Forfeit system for comp

i think there should be a forfeit system if 1 in comp or more players left the match, if you have 5 or less players on a team in competitive , it’s just a waste of time

This has been discussed many times before and the same problem was mentioned over and over again: a compensation for the leaver’s team is exploitable. You just need to bully or convince someone to leave if your team is losing.

A solution for the leaver problem must not be exploitable and it must feel “fair”. Otherwise, it would break competitive.

if your team forfeits it should be an instant lost, so they it’s like losing, but with less spare time and 5/5 should agree

The issue is that a lot of people would auto-forfeit if someone left, even if they were in a winning position. And also, without a timer, there is a risk that a temporary disconnect leads to a loss, when the person would have reconnected 15 seconds later.

the solution could be that the vote kicks of after the leaver gets a penalty, therefore he already lost sr

I’m sorry but I might have understood the post wrong

A forfeit system is a bad idea because, believe it or not, you still have a chance of winning the game. Seriously, during competitive, a 5 player team beat us, even though we had the upper hand.

Also, it would be like a double feature because you can leave the game aver 2 minutes or so anyway. The time limit ensures that the leaver still has the possibility to join back.

if they are winning why would all of them forfeit?

Because they were losing. The leaver’s team was losing and they still managed to beat us.

If there is a small chance to win, give them the chance.

If you win 5v6 it wasn’t even a game worth playing as your opponents were beyond bad in comparison. That holds true even in a broken game like OW where Widow can get kill half the team in 3 sec

Nope, both teams were equal. We just started to underestimate our opponents once they got a leaver. One we realized they went full power, it was too late.

What you described does suggest the complete opposite however.

Nope.

After the team had a leave, we went half power and they went full power. If both of us went full power (with no leaver), the fight would be fair. Us easing up lead to our defeat.

Also, it doesn’t matter because it still proves one thing: Even if you have a leaver, you still have a chance of winning.

Yes but I already said that

I could play 1v1 games vs people I couldn’t possibly lose against but it’d be completely pointless.

Don’t forget the second reason why this is a bad idea:

Very unlikely for a leaver to come back since there is nothing in it for him. Once you leave you’ll get a punishment either way.

This wasn’t like this before though.

I think the instant penalty was due to an exploit where you respawn faster by leaving the game and joining back.

If this is the reason why they added the instant penalty, they could instead make a forced respawn where you have to wait to respawn when joining back. That way, the instant penalty wouldn’t be necessary anymore and the exploit isn’t possible, too.

That’s true but I highly doubt blizzard will change the way that things are now.

I would rejoin if possible, to finish the match. SR is unimportant, I want to win.

I’m assuming that most people play to rank up, you would be an exception.

Ranking up doesn’t make you any better. What matters is 1) how you perform in any given game and/or 2) how much fun you’re having, not what some arbitrary stat says.
