Forum direct link no longer in Battle Net client?

For some reason, it seems the direct link to the forum has been removed and now we have the link for the OW2 wesbite. The latter is a nice addition but I don’t see why they removed the forum link. It was pretty useful when you were in game, switching to client and access the forum to easily report bugs, glitches and so on. Anyone else noticed that?

they are probably working on a ow2 forum who knows

That’d make sense but this forum still exist so that’s kinda sad to abandon it already.

Given that OW1 is going to be totally replaced when 2 launches… I don’t think they need to create a separate forum for 2.

Maybe they just don’t care about forum peeps for time being.

Which is weird since that’s the first place where people can express their opinions on the game… wait actually it makes sense now :skull:

Haha. Yeah. In theory it is, but I actually think they pay a little more attention to Reddit now. If they pay any attention at all.

which is weird since they can’t pull stats from profiles of the people creating the posts etc.
which they can from their own forums which have connected in-game accounts.

True. But what stats you going to get that are useful.
Reddit is a weird place, but it does seem to have some more rational ideas.

hours played? or does that not matter?
like a poll or something so they can check it’s not a bot.

You won’t get that from the forums, that’ll be in game.

A poll, this could be a good place for that. But they get more engagement on Twitter, so they’d do that there. So forums is probably just going to be user created polls… which are actually against the rule (I think)

yeah but i mean they hold polls on reddit right?
and yet they source those as credible despite not knowing how many bots are involved in those.

Yeah. Reddit is good for polls.
There will be some bots, but it is easy to tell when bots have interfered heavily in the results.

They won’t ever do a poll to get a serious view on something anyways. More to see what the general feeling is.

reddit and twitter are really useless for polls because of bots, it just takes a handful of discord people to manipulate a poll, and it’s not like they do these lightly.

remember the role qeue polls?

Useless if you want to get serious data yes. Ok if you just want to put the feelers out there and see what the mood is.

Role queue polls were mostly postive. It was also something requested in a questionaire they sent out AGES ago (with things about battle passes and customisable skins and so on, which is where I figured out a lot of what was coming in OW2 (even if a certain person deliberately disagreed with me…))

i never got a questionaire as far as i remember.
but in any case, they referenced the polls as to why they went with role qeue and they are very fond of reddit as most things goes through there and have been for years.

so yeah, kinda dumbstruck why they would rely on data such as that to base an opinion.
but i did vote for role qeue because i thought
“no way dps players would wait 10min for dps”
but they proved me wrong when they were perfectly fine waiting for an hour per qeue.

I don’t think everyone did, can’t remember. But it was what you expect, do you want certain things, how much would you pay for things, would you pay for customisable skins and so on. Sort of dull questionnaires businesses will do to gauge what they can get away with.

I doubt they used it to find out what we wanted. More they were doing it, and wanted to see if it was worth the time.
