FPS Drops with Streamlabs OBS?

Hello dear people,

(I translated this with google translator… i hope its readable^^)

I really need help.
As the title already stands, I stream OW over Streamlabs OBS.

In Overwatch when i am in the TRANINGSAREA and the stream is on, I have a constant 144 FPS without a single DROP.
But as soon as I switch to a Quickplay, Ranked or Arcade with other players, it will drop to 120FPS (That would still work) but now it comes: As soon as i have enemy contact the FPS usually drove to 70-80 and that is an impossibility with my 140HZ monitor ,
It feels like playing with 20-25FPS.
When i respawn in the spawn, the FPS usually stabilize a bit again but as soon as you come back into the contested area or contact with enemy players is there again the total break-in.
By the way i let HWMonitor run but the hardware does not overheat either.
I think that problem actually is by Overwatch itself

** My system: **
AMD FX 8350 8 CPUS 4.0 GHZ ~
12GB RAM
GeForce GTX 1060 6GB
Connection: 200-MB Download / 20-MB Upload! (So more than enough for 6000 bitrate)
144 HZ AOC Monitor (1920x1080)
As a second monitor, a small TV is used (advanced display) has normal 3840x2160 but I’ve synonymous set to 1920x1080.

** My Streamlabs OBS settings in the respective tabs: **

Output:
Hardware (NVENC)

  • No hook on Enforce streaming service encoder settings
  • No Hook on Rescale Output
  • Rate Control: CBR
  • Bit rate: 6000
  • Keyframe Interval: 2
  • Preset: Quality
  • Profile: Main
  • GPU: 0
  • Max B-frames: 2

Video:

  • Base: 1920x1080
  • Output (scaled): 1280x720
  • Downloadscale Filter: Lanczos (32 samples)
  • FPS Type: Common FPS values
  • FPS: 60

Advanced:

  • Process Priority: Normal
  • Color format: NV12
  • YUV color space: 601
  • Color range: partial
  • Force GPU as render device: activated

** My solution attempts so far: **

  • OW repaired / reinstalled at Battlenet Lancher.
  • OBS process priority increased to above normal and high
  • In Task Manager, Overwatch.exe (during gameplay) has higher priority except MAX.
  • OBS completely reinstalled and installed again everything reinstalled on the SSD
  • OW.exe Full Screen Optimization disabled.
  • Put the downscal filter on Bicubic and Bilinar in the OBS.
  • Bit rate reduced to 2500 (NO DIFFERENCE)
  • Graphics settings are low ( i tried all graphic settings in OW)
  • In Overwatch the FPS are capped at 144FPS
  • In OW, VSYNC and triple buffering are enabled
  • All drivers are up to date
  • In Windows Explorer all unnecessary graphical features have been disabled ( the font and folder shadows, etc etc …)

Its only in Overwatch… :frowning:

I hope someone can help me i really would like to start streaming.

Can it be that I just need a newer graphic card and the current GTX 1060 is too weak for OW.???
But why does everything run PERFECTLY in traningsarea and when i play solo in OW with running stream ??
In the Traningsarea I lose not even 1FPS of the 144 … really weird…

I’m very grateful for any further approach!!

Thanks so much.

best regards
XSHADOW

Ahh one thing has occurred to me when the FPS Drops happen, the stream runs smoothly and perfetly on twitch i have already looked at the external devices such as tablet, mobile phone, laptop. Only with me Ingame the FPS drop to 70-100 and this feels like 20-25 FPS. Cant play like this :disappointed:

A relatable problem, apart from i constantly get drops even without streaming.
Hopefully there is a solution to this soon.

Heya,

If you experience performance issues when you have other applications such as Streamlabs OBS active, disable it. Go through the steps to close background applications and test Overwatch again afterwards.

Have a few seconds to spare? Let me know how I’m doing!
