I’ve never had serious connection issues with OW EU servers before. Just at about the same time as the last free game campaign started my connection began to fail a lot. I had never seen this red bar across the screen until now. Today it is a constant companion when playing. I thought that it was because the servers had so much load but now that the free time has ended I still experience the same issue.
Entering the game (starting ow) takes longer than before and sometimes I don’t even get in on the first attempt. It just lingers in the “entering game” screen until it says “disconnected from server” and offers a login screen. When I get in it may work until a game is found, it says “joining game”, then I get the red bar and after a while “disconnected from server”. Throws me out of ow.
This does not happen all the time. So I might be able to play two games normally (even though joining a game takes longer than before) and then next time it disconnects. It does not disconnect during games but only when joining.
The behavior is very constant. Takes longer to enter game when starting ow, takes longer to join a found game or optionally I get disconnected.
What could cause this? I’ve run the normal internet connection checks and nothing special came up. I’ve cleared ow cache files etc. Nothing seems to help. I starting to lean on it being ow server side fault.
