lately i keep getting disconnected in the middle of my overwatch matches and it results in me getting suspended and basically making the game unplayable. i only play quick play so i think its stupid that im getting suspended in the first place as im only playing QUICK PLAY and not competitive. its not my fault that my wifi keeps disconnecting and this only happens when i play overwatch for some reason. its fine with every other app i use but the moment i get into an overwatch match i disconnect. i really dont know how i can even fix this but even if i cant i recommend NOT suspending people over quick play matches because its really not the same as competitive. i dont know if anyone else is having this issue or if anyone knows a fix but anything helps.
If you haven’t tried these already, I’d advise giving the related support article a look.

Before trying any of the following steps check the BlizzardCS Twitter for any service interruptions.
- Reset your network devices to make sure your router hasn’t become flooded with data.
- Release and renew your IP and flush your DNS to resolve any network conflicts.
- Update your drivers and operating system to resolve any compatibility issues.
- If you’re using a wireless connection, optimize your internet connection to rule out a connection issue.
- Close all other applications to resolve software conflicts and free up resources.

The article also includes an advanced troubleshooting guide, if needed!
Fingers-crossed!
Are you using ethernet? If not, use ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, that’s usually the main reason, also check ping during matches and when you get disconnected.
As well as this, are you logged into your region?
This keeps happening to me too! it’s so annoying. I have checked all the tips from blizzard and there’s no solution. did you fix it?
If you’re using wifi try switching to ethernet or at least tethering with your phone, for some reason overwatch hates wifi. I have 3 ms ping with my router with no spikes even when i disconnect and for some reason overwatch keeps crashing. Using my phone with usb tethering and 5G has solved for me even if not optimal cause i have 110 ping instead of 60.
Let’s wait for blizzard to solve
its not even that my ping is high, it just randomly disconnects me..but yeah ill try to get ethernet. thanks for the tips!
its not about ethernet or wifi i get the same issue aswell i can ban map etc but i cant join the game and i get banned idk how to fix it tho.
My pc build is good, My files are okey, my connection is stable with ethernet cable, its just bug with no solution at least i didnt see any.
The same thing is happening to me.. i tried wireshark it and everything and all i see its “unstable“ connection to blizzard servers… this is only happening on overwatch.. every other game works just fine
My temp solution is to play on my mobile data and hotspoting internet to my pc (and even then its a 50 / 50)
I’m also having this issue Im connected by Ethernet cable and since last night I’ve been lagging out of my game
Hello,
I’ve been having the same issue for the past 3 days, it started without any change done on my side. Has there been a solution? I’ve tried the outlined recommendations but didn’t fix anything.
Hey, so if you’re on PC, the only thing that worked for me was flushing dns and repairing the Overwatch files via battle net. To flush dns go to cmd on your PC and type ipconfig /flushdns
Then repair the Overwatch files. It’s really a temporary fix because the issue STILL comes back. But, it works for a short while and repeating this has worked for me. Again, not a permanent fix but it works for a while, at least for me.
yeah i have tried this thats the problem… i checked everything i cloud before writing a post![]()
this also happens to me, i know how to use the console and sometimes helps running this commands in the cmd:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
still the connection sucks, i still fall, my ping is minimal but does not matter, i use ethernet cable and everything, i really hope blizzard solve this.
I have the issue where it keeps disconnecting because of a server issue. It is indeed only in OW and makes the game totally unplayable…
This just happened to me today. I had to call my Wi-Fi provider because I thought my Wi-Fi had a problem, but no, my Wi-Fi was perfectly fine.
I’m from Europe (Spain) and play on PC in the Europe region. Usually, my server is AMS1 or CDG, and my ping is typically 40. Today, my ping was 1500, and for some reason, my server was ICN1 and SYD2. I kept getting kicked out of my matches and sometimes I got kicked out of overwatch.
Since Season 3 started, everyone I know who plays Overwatch keeps getting these disconnect problems.
Please, Overwatch, fix your game. I don’t want to get banned.
i keep having this issue i’ve NEVER had this issue before, and it’s not my wifi and i’ve tried the troubleshooting issues
the only consistents i’ve noticed is that it’s typically start or early match, and has happened more when i play mizuki? but this could be a huge coincidence idk why that would affect it
please get this fixed because i shouldn’t be suspended from quick play (!) due to something out of my control – i’m specifically not playing comp until i can be sure this is fixed
This is now becoming a problem for me and my friends. We all play in the European server from diff countries. Sometimes together, sometimes apart. I use a PS5, My german friend uses a switch and my South African friend is on pc. Wether we are alone or together we all experience some issue with connection making the game unplayable. But it’s worst for my girl on the switch as she keeps getting dced mid game, and it’s been happening all throughout the past week. Would love a fix as her wifi seems to b fine for literally everything else.
#PAYZZARD :money emote: fix these randomly disconects
