The game takes around 3-6 minutes to launch from pressing the play button. I thought it just crashed at first because task manager showed crashmailer_64.exe but i just left it by accident and it came up. I’ve tried updating my graphics drivers, resetting my in game settings, turning off overlays, and repairing my game files. This has been happening the last week or so but would sometimes launch instantly
Same problem here too… what is going on?
I’ve been having this issue for about 2 weeks now. Except it initially would just launch… but not actually start up, I could see it in task manager but that was it.
I did a clean install and that fixed it not launching, but now it takes about 6-15min to start up with a solid 2-3 minutes of the default grey background before the hero and map loads in(on the home screen).
I checked with my bf and a couple of his friends, they all have the same exact issue of it taking freaking ages to launch, with the only current solution being deleting the Battlenet folder and reacquiring the files EVERY DAY.
Hello everyone,
Let’s try some things to see if we can get the game to open faster.

You can paste the content of each file on a web like Pastebin and provide us with the links. If it doesn’t let you publish your message because of the links, try to paste them using the preformatted text option (</> button).

it seems that the new patch has fixed it. thanks anyways
Guys this has nothing to do with Overwatch or your computer, it depends on your internet and it also depends on what server you are playing in, I had bad internet and it took forever to load, and then i got better internet and then it was fine, Don’t forget that your client needs to internet to log into the game, and Overwatch does take up a lot of bandwidth, so i would try using an ethernet first and then if that doesn’t work you need some better internet, or try loading it with a personal hotspot just to test what is going on with it, it could be anything, Like i say, it is nothing to do with them, it’s internet that is the issue
I also have this problem, and I can trace it back to having a native IPv6 internet access. When I disable the IPv6 protocol on my LAN interface, or move to a different network where the main connectivity is IPv4, Overwatch starts immediately.
I can reproduce this by disabling / enabling IPv6 e.g. using Powershell commands (as an Admin user):
Disable-NetAdapterBinding –InterfaceAlias “Ethernet 2” –ComponentID ms_tcpip6
Now Overwatch starts immediately …
Enable-NetAdapterBinding –InterfaceAlias “Ethernet 2” –ComponentID ms_tcpip6
… back to taking forever to start …
