Hello,
After hours and hours of searching online, chatting with tech support (Blizzard, Nvidia and windows) and calling with the Dutch windows helpdesk… I’ve lost all hope.
I’ve tried Overwatch, Slime rancher and Borderlands 2. With all games, both video and audio start to stutter and the fps drops every few seconds, especially when there is more going on (walking, zooming in, shooting etc.).
I’ve tried to find a similar issue on youtube, but the stuttering in my games is way worse than the ones I’ve seen.
I thought it happened because of the latest windows update (1803), but now I’m not sure anymore.
This is everything I’ve done so far (In chronical order):

Rebooted my whole laptop.

Disabled screen optimization.

Turned GameBar, DVR on disabled.

Tried to find if my driver needed an update (Nvidia GeForce Game Ready Driver 397.93). At this time my pc was running on windows 1803.

Tried older drivers (I think I’ve tried 385.69 and 391.01?)

Rebooted laptop again with recovery option.

Tried to reinstall older drivers with using DDU to remove the older driver (Hoped that that would solve the issue).

Tried turning things off running in the background (Multiple steps but can’t recall all complicated names, sorry. helpdesk did most of these things for me)

Went to Windows 1709 with help from the windows helpdesk.

That didn’t solve it so tried the same update but with a newer Nvidia driver didn’t work either.

Went to Windows 1703 (again with window helpdesk who provided me a link), but it still didn’t resolve the problem.
(I also checked if my laptop was clogged with dust, but surprisingly it was still very clean thanks to my last clean up and fan stand I have for it underneath).
And now it’s past 18:00 So I can’t get in touch with the helpdesk. I really wanted it solved today.
I don’t know how to proceed, I’ve tried everything I could think of.
A month ago I could play games on pretty high settings and it was really smooth, no drops at all. Now I haven’t played in a while, nothing changed but a windows update and I get this…
The stuttering would only happen if I played for example Overwatch on higher settings while my laptop was on battery mode.
It isn’t a heating problem either, I check often and it stays cool thanks to the fan (plus the laptop can keep itself cool on its own well enough too).

300 G storage
(Is that everything that’s useful as for specs? I’m not sure)
If anyone can help me out, please I beg of you, I’m lost.
Did my Nvidia card just give up? (I don’t think that could happen just so suddenly right?)
