He brings barely any value once again, but other characters that clearly didn’t need buffs got buffed instead. Why did Mcree need another buff? Why did Mei get buffed again? What actual buff have blizzard given Genji besides reverting the Shuriken ammo fron 23 to 30. Honestly this game is genuinely trash because it caters towards the most skilless heros. Blizzard, please buff Genji. Why is it that his ult is only good when he either gets a nano, kitsune rush or a mercy pocket. Hitscan has made genji barely playable as well as supports that can instantly regenerate their health.
At least on gold level a genji can dominate an entire match without a pocket.
He has no need for buffs. I’ve played maybe 20 hours on him and even i manage to get some value out of him on occasion.
Cowboy’s only good if your aim is steady, at which point you might get more out of playing ashe.
Mei’s primary fire is a tad too strong, that is true.
He certainly needs looking at.
The bladebot play style is boring. He needs a little more in the neutral and a little less in the ult.
Genji is by far my most played hero and I can say that in most cases if the enemy team is competent they can easily force the Genji to swap. For whatever reason every time Genji gets a buff it gets taken back because he dominates, he’s a high mobility hero with potential to be devastating if he’s played right and isn’t forced into unfavourable match ups.
You’ve answered why there.
The Devs did explain why, back when they buffed him last and he went hard meta for a month.
Essentially. When he’s meta the game is fun for Genji players… No one else though. Every game descended into nano blade bot charging and who’s press that Q first.
Was tedious AF for everyone else.
He should always be a bit of a niche hero. If you put the effort in and get good. You get value.
to be fair, you can force most people with any hero to swap if a decent player counter picks
Oh I completely agree. More often than not when it comes to genji in the higher ranks it usually is a nano blade that wins the fight, I hate it. It feels less about my skill on the hero and more about mindless swinging, I hate being nano boosted on him, I prefer to let my ability speak for itself.
The issue with overwatch being the style of game it is is the fact that there will never be a point where every single character is equal, there will always be heroes that get power creeped when certain changes take affect and that could be because of another heroes existence, for example mercy with her damage boost on soujourn during season 1. There is no such thing as perfect balance.
This is also a fact. Something that makes tank miserable for me personally, it’s all the counter picking. I understand that’s the way the game is designed and there will always be heroes that have the upper hand on another but it isn’t fun.
Very true. Actual balance is a myth.
That’s why I don’t really mind when someone is “OP” for a week or so. If they keep changing it so nothing is meta for too long, it doesn’t really matter who’s strong.
I agree with that. Balance isn’t possible because nothing will ever truly be equal, this is true for most pvp games, sometimes mechanical skill can prevail but that has nothing to do with balance.
Exactly.
It’s why when people claim a one sided match is a “match maker” problem… The first things I look at are team comps and the map.
I will admit to have lost games due to my choice of character on a given map like playing reaper on first point junkertown which is a sniper oriented part of the map or rein on Gibraltar when the first point favours higher mobility tanks like Dva and Winston. Map and team composition is important. Ultimate synergy too.
