GOATS and the balancing of the game

Hi so it’s Christmas day and I just played against Goats in quick play.
On Christmas day.
In q u i c k p l a y.
That 1. says a lot about the community but 2. showcases how bad the game gets when a bad meta is allowed to thrive. Goats is undoubtedly the least popular meta and it has been going for a very long time, only growing more popular and necessary with time. I’m just very confused as to why it takes so long for Blizz to just
do stuff?
I think literally all professional players have wanted Brig to be reworked or deleted but nothing has happened since April. The constant nerfs are going to put her in a position just like mercy where her long needed rework is horrifically belated and when it eventually does come around, as she’s nerfed into the state of oblivion, it’ll just take even more time to balance the new kit. Blizz seem so hesitant to do anything with their game and i honestly believe that’s the main reason so many people have stopped playing and why it’s ‘dying’. It’s a genuinely well designed game with a lot of potential and really isn’t in a state where it should be dying, and yet so many people in the community are so bored because every new hero since release other than Ana or Ashe has just been so badly balanced and dealt with simply because Blizzard couldn’t seem to make their mind (although it could be argued that Moira and Hammond haven’t seen a huge amount of changes they’re a different matter as their kits simply don’t work well in the game)
Like when was the last time something has actually changed going from ptr to live? Use the ptr more experimentally or just don’t use it at all and let the results play out, either way actually listening to the community and acting quickly in order to keep the game in a good state.
In any case, this is obviously entirely my opinion and I’d be interested to see other people’s thoughts (sorry for the ranty format), and also merry Christmas to all those who celebrate it reading this today

I constantly play Zarya in QP and I have never, ever encountered a GOATS comp in my or the enemy team.

Aside from that when something works it works and that is why people play it, at least in comp. mode. You want to win? Well pick the most broken and OP heroes there are.

I remember that someone said that he/she didn’t want to use the new FAN because it was deemed noob. Dude, you win with that, go with it.

TLDR: Played against Goats. THE GAME IS DYING!!

“… actually listening to the community and acting quickly” - This is something that absolutely must be done. We want to avoid another ''we all have cellphones" stuff.

I am a low elo player, but I follow the pro scene and this is a very common thought, and if you watched the OWWC or follow Contenders-- the casters joke about goats. It’s all about who uses their cooldowns better. And honestly, it’s not even half as fun to watch than the dive comp games. I expect better things to come before the OWL even starts. You really DON’T want to decrease your view rate like that.

Daimond, almost 1000 hours, over 50% of that time on tank, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen GOAT comp in QP, maybe once or twice, I don’t even remember.

To complain about a comp, after 1 QP game is just silly. I mean come on.

Even in comp diamond, it’s extremely rare to see GOAT comp. Maybe if it’s a clutch situation, 1 min left, then sure, some teams go GOATs to push that final attack, or have an extra strong final defensive hold.

I just find it weird when lower level players in diamond and below complain about GOATs. And here I am HOPING we even get a second tank every comp game when I solo.

I have never played against goats once or been in a team with goats. The most sweaty I ever seen is typical 2-2-2 but quickplay, is very typically 4 dps with maybe one healer or tank.

But Basically every qp game I go into people are treating it as deathmatch because they want easy kills.

And usually going up against 6 stacks playing a actual team. And comp usually ish’t much better.
