I`m a new player and I just started to play Competitive, not even finished my 10 games-placement yet. My question is about the purple competitive currency. Do you earn some of it for each win or you get it as reward only when you finish the season?

Im a nub so Ill get only 65 purple thingies per season and every season is 2 months long… I need 47 season to earn 3000 purple things and that is 47x2 = 94 months / 12 = ~8 years
you receive 15 comp points for a won match, and 5 or 10 for a draw, I’m not sure.
This means 200 won comp matches give you a golden weapon of your choice, on top you receive few hundred comp points at the end of the season, depending where you rank.
I’ve got 8 golden guns by now, just from playing comp. Started with season V or VI, can’t remember.
To be fair, as long you do your placement matches each season then depending on the rank you get, eventually you’ll have enough for a golden gun after a few seasons with minimal effort.
You get the most at the end of a season so its a lot faster than 1 every 8 years. I currently have a golden gun for all of my go to heros and a number of my non main heroes after about 2 years of play (also with multiple breaks).
