I just spent incredible amount of time and nerves to get my 3000 golden weapon points to get one for my fave Hammond the hamster.
Not that it would be my first golden weapon skin, it’s just the first time I enjoy playing a hero enough to actually care.
Tonight I finally got it all and with tons of excitement I spent it exactly as I wished.
Sadly I got a bit disappointed after I first tested it, as even tho I saw the way the guns will be reskinned, even before I got it myself, I kinda expected something more.
What I’m trying to say is, that I kinda expected more than a tiny area on the guns themselves and even less visible on the controllers.
The ultimate bombs, the swing rope, or at least something visible during the “sphere” mode would all make it much more worth it in my opinion.
Who knows, maybe it’s a dumb idea, as it could make the player and his bombs more easy to spot for the enemy. Maybe that is what Blizzard was thinking when they made their decision for the tiny amount visible.
All I’m saying is that one needs 200 wins in comp to get this skin. It could at least be better visible after spending so many hours.
And yes, I do realise that this is a perfect example of “first world problems” but,
I just wanted to know if others feel the same way or think it would make you an easy target.

Yea, I’m glad I’m not the only with some failed expectations. Maybe Blizzard will check this post and fix this extreme kind of problem :D.
To be fair, I didn’t knew he had 2 mg’s at that time.

Its like now with Ashe and the people who expected a golden BOB.
Simply because I was ready to spend the points even if all I get is what I see in the menu. I hoped for more and didn’t get it, but that changes nothing about the fact that the Ball is my fave hero in the game at the moment and there will hardly be anyone better worth my gold anytime soon.
The only real reason to start this conversation on the forums was to let Blizzard know I care and wish for more and to get to know whether there is more people than just me thinking the same way.
Plain and simple.
I can understand that no harm done here and i didn’t want to sound mean. But it just ends up looking petty to me since i honestly don’t care about golden guns at this point.
I mean Moira got her nails golden because people wanted it. The thing that worries me is that they are people who want the devs to waste time on trivial matters like this but oh well, you guys do you and i hope that add more golden elements to him to keep people happy.
Let’s be honest, it is nothing else than being petty. It’s nowhere near as important as fixing bugs, adding new heroes and making sure the current ones are not OP.
The reason why I typed it here although knowing that it is in actuality unimportant is that to me, as someone who never worked on any game, it seems quite simple to change a texture and a shader on a few already “good to go” character models.
I made a few models in my life with a very little detail and texturing was all but decent, yet for a professional I feel like this simply must take an hour at most once the decision is actually made.
But as I said, I have no real idea how it goes. Whether it has to be thought through by multiple people, whether the update itself is a problem and cost money or similar things I can’t even imagine… I simply don’t know.
All I’m saying is, I spent my money on the game, I spent my time on the game and I enjoyed it. This would make me enjoy the game even more.

Yeah, bought the golden gun last week and noticed (or lack thereof) because I was in ball mode all the time. Would at least appreciate maybe a small part being golden when in ball mode (maybe the part where his head is supposed to be)

My thoughts exactly. I myself wouldn’t mind even all the bigger changes I talked about, but I am some pathetic competitive level. I guess it might matter to the more professional players. But exactly as you say, at least in the ball mode there could be something golden as… Let’s be honest, it’s literally asking for it as
YOU CAN SEE YOURSELF FROM THE 3RD PERSON VIEW AT THAT POINT DAMN IT! 
i’m agree with the fact of a golden part during the ball form, that will be worth the 3000 points.
