Hanzo is broken. He literally does 125 bodyshot with his 1 second charged arrow, and that’s enough to 2-shot all attackers and healers besides bastion. His arrow falling, doesn’t mean sh*t when you spend 10 minutes to get the hang of it. It makes it so easy to hit shots with him, now that he is 100% shot-accurate from hipfire. But… he must have SOME weakness, right? NO, he can jump away from all close-range heros and he can use his storm arrows to plow down tanks. It doesn’t even stop there, he can also climb walls and shoot a tracking arrow, that tracks the opponent.
Ok… What solution do you propose?
Ah, the difficult question. It’s easy to complain, but to offer a solution, not as easy.
As for Hanzo, I think he’s alright.
I can’t disagree, tweaks could be made. But that goes for pretty much all the DPS heroes.
But everyone seems rant without purpose. At least suggest a change.
i mean hanzo got a really good kit all around, the only weakness hanzo has is actually charging his shots to a degree and some of the functionality of them that can be seen as a weakness.
he’s one of the characters that has it a little bit too easy right now i feel and when i see people play him i just nod my head in agreement like.
“yeah that’s a nice dps pick”.
I think if you’d take away his headshot ability it would be fine.
Just my 2 cents
An interesting idea. That would then change him from a sniper to a Junkrat style spam hero.
remove hanzo from the game
Now that is a hot take lol.
Personally, I think they should take a look at the fall off damage. Similar to what they did to Widow (but maybe more effective).
Being sniped is one thing. Being sniped randomly from half way across the map doesn’t feel great.
I say we give him 10 arrows and to reload he has to go pick them up
Jeez. Pretty much all DPS heroes need some small nerf. But that would be hilariously massive.
Maybe make all his attacks be more like “storm arrows” is now, in terms of damage, but keep everything else about his charge-time on shots stay the same? Storm arrows ability could essentially be more like a ‘Rapid Fire’, and it would still serve as a fitting E ability.
Based on your idea.
Every arrow would be 70dmg, and storm is just rapid fire, so would only be 140 for a headshot. Interesting idea. But I have a feeling it could kill the point of being a sniper (although I know a few people who would be happy with that).
Could be workable if you upped the damage, but then storm arrows becomes more oppressive than it is now.
For reference currently it is 27.2 to 125 depending on charge.
For me, I’d like to see a re-worked version of scatter arrows back instead of storm arrows.
Take him back to being a sniper with a zoning burst ability on long cooldown. Rather than the spam hero he has become.
personally i don’t think hanzo needs leap, but it is a fun feature of the character.
the other thing is i feel like storm arrows being able to crit is a bit crazy.
the way i allways envisioned storm arrows to function even before it was announced was that it would function sorta like a defensive ability against fast characters like tracer, but it wouldn’t necessarily be a big dps increase outside of that, just something hanzo had to fight fast characters so he’s not as vulnerable to agile characters.
and the mechanics of it would be that hanzo automatically shoots several shots one after the other, similarly how it would be when you activate it and just hold down the button.
but they chose to make it a bit extra so yeah.
the other thing i suggested was basically make it a shotgun shot where you fire 5 arrows in an frontal arc, another way it would be potentially powerful when you get jumped by agile characters since the need for aim would be less,
also they could have tried letting this shotgun shot bounce around just like his normal scatter arrow, but now it doesn’t hit the floor and splits, it’s just shot out allready split making him a bit scary in a small room for targets that are hard to hit.
but it is what it is.
(i think i was the first one to mention and post this rapid fire rework of scatter arrow, if that was where they got the inspiration for their current storm arrows, then i will apoligize, they went too far.)
Shotgun type shot could be good. Bit like scatter arrow without the complete rng of the scatter.
Would make him almost like a ranged torb.
the point of the shotgun shot is that it would be good in close range and if they are low on hp you got a higher chance of finishing them off than needing to charge a new shot and bet everything on a single arrow.
but there are also an incentive to “shotgun” someone really close with it aswell, and it would be a pretty nightmarish ability in a small room for enemies to go up against especially hard to hit enemies.
but that was basically just an idea born from before hanzo had leap, it wouldn’t really fit nowadays as he could just leap into someones face and shotgun them
but yeah.
I’d certainly like to see it tried. Some one with more time probably can workshop it.
hmm… honestly i think the easiest and best thing they can workshop for hanzo is making storm arrows not crittable and maybe try making it completely automatic and fiddle around with the numbers,
for example the damage numbers, the number of arrows that gets fired, the firing speed that they are shot at or the falling arc of the projectiles itself.
because i did have an idea where you could perhaps use it to volley arrows above a barrier or a wall and also limit the range of the arrows in a single change to it.
but yeah, i’ve given up, there’s no point in telling devs what to do.
took them 4 years to decrease reapers shotgun spread.
it’ll probably take another 4 years when they probably give reaper a different ultimate or a different passive.
Upping the damage would be fine aswell I think. And in order to make storm arrows less oppressive, they could keep nerfing their damage in comparison to normal shots. So lets say normal shots did somewhere between 70-100 dmg, and the storm arrows in rapid fire mod could be 10% weaker in dmg or something.
I would not mind this aswell, though I can understand why they got removed, but it was a cool ability, indeed.
Yeah Reapers change seems good. But he is still surprisingly weak.
I’d be playing Hanzo over him all the time.
