Having a lot of losing streaks lately

Lately I’m experiencing lots of losing streaks in QP (6v6). I sometimes have 7+ losses in a row. The problem is that I have no idea why. Sure, I’m not a great player, but why do I get so many losses? I spoke to other players in-game and they experience the same.

I’ve tried to come up with reasons like (Am I playing vs. groups? Am I playing vs. simply better skilled players? etc) but I doubt I’m constantly pitched vs. grouped and/or better players…

Any ideas?

Streaks are always player related.

So, you say 7 losses. Couple could of just been down to playing a poor comp. One could of been down to you having a stinker, another due to a team mate. Someone could of been throwing. All sorts of things. Boils down to unlucky coincidences a lot of the time (unless you’re just straight up throwing games, which you aren’t in this case)

Ultimately, if you review the games and make sure you learn from the mistakes you made and implement that next game. Then you can’t do a lot more.

The whole “playing Vs groups” thing doesn’t really make any difference. It’s just a cheap excuse someone who’s solo might use when they don’t want to look inwards. But, statistically, solo players win more than stacks.

where is this information from? And why do most of the top 500 play in stacks, obviously because the chances of winning are higher than playing with random people

Dev interview a while back (around February I believe)

Shorter queues / playing with friends.

This game loves it when your around 50% win rate

they don’t care about you winning; they only care about your investment + time so chances imrpove buying a battle pass + skins

It’s literally a logical natural outcome of hitting your level and match making being consistently fine.

Pretty fair statement.

Easy way round it. Don’t give them your money and limit what time you spend in the game.

I realised I’m usually grouped with throwers/afk’ers. And yes, Im getting pitched vs. groups more than you think…

Have you heard of this thing called “coincidence”.

Also, people having bad games aren’t throwing. Most people actually throwing aren’t the smartest, it wouldn’t be subtle.

No. You can’t constantly lose and win so that the winrate is 50%, it’s mathematically impossible. As an example, I can give boxers who can win 20 fights with knockouts before their first loss, they do not have a constant 50% winrate.
Losing and winning several times in succession is mathematically extremely unlikely, but in the game it happens all the time.

Boxers aren’t subjected to sbmm though.

If you’re consistently given fair matches based on a reliable metric. You will over time deviate towards a 50% win rate.

How long depends on the person and how fast they improve. But we all get there in the end.

this leads me to believe that the MMR gives up once it realizes you will NOT be spending money. And then you get these horrid losing streaks without the balance of a winning streak.

OP, do you spend money in the shop?

I feel ya. I used to have some losing streaks, but since mid-season, all my 6v6 matches are now also absolute sweatfests, with players on the enemy team just wiping everyone. Been playing since it launched in 2016, but wondering if it would be a good idea to just ditch the game.

Money is not a factor in MMR.

It just goes up and down with wins and losses.
