Call me uneducated but whats a “google server” apart from the obvious servers google used. Last time I checked blizzard is a microsoft company, which used edge, bing and explorer. But thye dont even use those servers. Is this some sub-culture sland i dont know as a quick internet search led me nowhere. Im pretty sure they use inbuilt servers lol. unless you mean the servers are bad, at which why bring google into it.
Google own the servers than blizzard use. So any server maintenance is done by them.
For EU… AMS1 is in Eemshaven in the Netherlands I believe. And GEN1 is in Hamina, Finland.
In time, I guess they might move over to Microsoft’s azure servers, but the contract is with Google for now. They’d need to either pay to end it early, or wait for it to expire.
A quick google search says that they use blizzard servers. There is no need to use google servers as google servers are search engine servers, so browser games, and the overwatch website will have a contract with google maybe? Additionally if somehow google did host the servers, maintainence is provided by blizzard themselves. This is standard for all games.
