Hidded profile is the problem

back then 2-3 months ago game process was better.
you were able to click one button and then you could see sr/most played heroes etc and according to this you were able to make a normal team comp where mercy main does not play reinhard.
one click of button and at beggining of the game you can see what heroes peopel in your team prefer to play.
Now everything is hidden and make normal comp according to player`s abilities is harder

I don’t really think that the real problem is that they added this feature, but the fact that the hidden profile status is set to friends only by default.
Many players don’t even know that

Yeah I only just noticed my own account was set to private. Its now been changed back to public.

Blizzard should have possibly not made this the default and gave people the option to set it to private, as like you say we can no longer make team comps based on people’s best played heros and roles but then again maybe this is what they are trying to stop.

I can understand that the “hidden profile” thing is quite annoying at times, but i believe it’s a good thing that it was added. Now you won’t get so attacked by others on your team, like some people who goes on your profile and see your stats etc can become really toxic and sh*tty towards you for different things.

Sure some people might not care about those things but i hate it when others attack you for stats on different heroes and starts talking sh*t towards you. Stuff like that has been happening to me before and i became realyl sad over it and almost depressed as well.

I understand from both sides that some might think it’s a bad thing but it really isn’t. I’m happy that they added it, and i really hope it will be here to stay.

A private profile is not going to stop anyone from being toxic… If I want to call you on names I find 300 reasons… And people don’t even need one reason.

That’s true but it still makes it a bit safer to have a private profile, at least imo. And you shouldn’t call out names to anyone and be mean, that’s just wrong. And yrs people really need a reason if they want to be mad at someone at least in overwatch.

No one knows how much toxicity can do to a person, and that’s scary.

Private profile solves nothing. All toxic people are private… It only helps them , not us.

Yes they do, i haven’t seen that much toxic people these passed days while having a private profile. Before there was so many of them. Having your profile on private helps alot even if you don’t think so.

And why should we care about those who are toxic towards one another? I don’t. I just let them live their life.

Bu i totally belive it’s a good thing to have this system. Before when it didn’t exist i got death threats almost every day and it made me depressed to the point that i didn’t want to play overwatch anymore but i kept my head high and did it anyways. And now when this feature was added i was very happy and i feel a lot more safe now, no one can attack me anymore and call me out on different things.

How about not re-judging folks? How about talking with them?

That’s not because of the private profile buddy.
And it’s only your perception I think(and the other private profilers). None of the public profile guys will say it’s a good thing for sure.

I agree. However, if someone is playing Competitive and they are a Reinhardt main with let’s say 100 hours. And then they play Ana which let’s say they have 5 hours on. I would expect them to play Reinhardt. Saying you’re ‘trying the hero out’ isn’t a good excuse. That’s for QP. If you join Comp and play a hero you’ve never played before or very little of. Then you’re going to get flamed. I personally wouldn’t flame them, but I’d ask them if they could play Reinhardt.

I wish Private Profiles weren’t a thing. But Blizzard aren’t going to change it. The least they could do is change Public to the default setting.

Private profiles are useless. Especially if you need to take a look at the profiles of people who join your team (competitive team finder).
This is a competitive game, means that people should compete with each other. So why profiles are private by default?!
I think this is the worst feature they added in the game until now.

Instead of add these useless features they should add a one more stats: Ranked Matches Left. A counter that only resets when you do not leave a match for a month. Until then you will be matched exclusively with people that have nearly the same amount of Ranked Matches Left. If you reach more than a specific quantity of RML you’ll be banned from the current ranked season.
This would be a great feature that discourage people to leave ranked matches before the end. Because ranked matches are not quick matches, you should play ranked matches ONLY when you are sure that you can and with a good internet connection that prevent you to disconnect from the game.

Sorry for my english, i hope you have understand what i mean.

Usually is the toxic people who has this profile private, and insults you and blame and flame the team since you cannot enter in their profile and see that they are a 60 hours hanzo and 5 hours genji and even less hours on th eother 26 heroes.

I love how only private profilers are defending this option

It’s different, with public profile people like you felt like blaming picks and winrate was legit, sending lot of matches to hell before start.

Now you cry alone.

Private profile drastically reduced the toxicity at the start of the match, so it is actually a wise decision.
People like you is just angry they cant find reasons to blame ppl.

I’m not private (as I like my stats to update on Overbuff etc) but think it is yet another win for Blizzard’s war on toxicity.

As a flex player this feature alone put me into a temporary summer vacation. I used to look at all profiles quickly to have an estimate about what the teamcomps were going to be optimally for both teams and pick my hero accordingly be it Pharah, Hanzo, Zarya, D.va, Winston, Zenyatta, Mercy or Moira. After the change everything just plummeted into chaos as OTP Mercys and Reinhardts with understandably lower mechanical skills started picking high mechanical skill ceiling heroes without remorse and you could never really tell what was wrong with your team and possibly compensate for that.

“But you can communicate!” Ok this is a valid point. Or it would be if anybody bothered to answer anything but “It’s just QP:D” or “just play what you want” outside competitive. Even in competitive people sometimes refuse to communicate. People in this game don’t communicate and one thing that validated that to myself was when an official checked my chatlogs as part of a request on ticket and told me that I talk a lot when I feel like I would be about average at best.

On top of that this system hasn’t really reduced toxicity, it has reduced negative feedback that some thin-skinned players think is toxicity such as saying that somebody isn’t performing well with their hero and should switch. The endorsement system is what has reduced toxicity or at least it masked toxicity behind fake positiveness  when it incentivized players to be kinder, make calls, communicate and so on

I think the issue was people being judged before the game has even begun.

That still happens regardless of your experience. It’s mostly about picks you make that people don’t like, eg torb, symm

People still judge other players before the game has even begun. I judge everyone in my games be it a teammate or an opponent constantly because evaluating situations is something you have to do in higher MMR games if you want to understand what’s going on and react accordingly in order to win games.
You have to sometimes judge other players pre-emptively in order to avoid the 300hrs on Mercy player going Widow with 5hrs on her at high MMR while we have a 200hrs Widow OTP in our team because it jeopardizes not only the Mercy player but both of these players and since OTPs are really common this happens alot. It’s just being logical and reasonable.
