I have 3 accounts for various different reasons (e.g.: learning). I’m using my main account through the Blizzard launcher. When I play with one of my alt accounts I start Overwatch.exe manually from an explorer and enter my email+password on the login screen.
Yesterday I was playing on my genji learner alt account that has 1 friend on its friend list. That guy invited me into a group and we played QP. After the match (after the end screen) that guy kicked me out of the group and removed me from his friend list without saying anything. At least that was what I thought before going to bed…
Today I launched the same account and my ping was about 120ms instead of the usual ~20-30ms. Unplayable with some heros. I tried to restart the game several times but it didn’t work. After a few tries I logged in to my main account but through the Blizzard launcher (as usual) and my ping was back to the usual twenty-something ms. Then I logged in to my alt account again (by starting directly Overwatch.exe) and my ping was good again and my friend was on my friend list and he was online…
My guess is that somehow the servers put me to a different region after that match (without exiting the game) but the Blizzard Launcher might be able to set the region. That would explain both the high ping and the different friend list.
