Sorry but, the recent Hog buffs have really brought into the light just how ridiculous his self healing is.
You can’t have 1 almost completely self sufficient character, you basically gutted Brig because of it and Hog is now a tank, with highest damage output in game, with highest self healing capacity in game, with highest HP pool in game.
If you’re keeping his damage how it is, you need to bring down his self heal.
You say this, but Hog is in every single game right now so quite obviously he’s pretty damn busted and forcing a team to pick 2 chars to possibly counter 1 tank is just really crappy game design.
He shouldn’t be doing this much damage and have that much survivability. It’s just dumb. Feels weird they’d nerf this kind of thing from several chars (Sig, Brig…), then buff something to that level.
He is the strongest tank right now. But once the slight nerfs to damage output come through. You will probably see Rein come back, which will lessen his effectiveness.
He soaks up damage and cool downs so your team can get in and do their job. His damage is only high if you play close, or are unlucky to get hooked. So thats why snipers are also being played a lot.
Hog is not broken. Brig was when she was released, and is probably borderline ok now, maybe a little weak.
Sigma needed a small nerf as did Orissa.
I think the only change for Hog would be add a second or 2 to the hook cool down.
Hog is pretty easy to take down… That is why he saw very little play time until now. He hasn’t got any harder to take down… he can just look after himself a little more now.
