Hog needs a minor adjustment to his current build
His health & regen rate pretty much grants no real skill window for him against other characters, He pretty much 1 shots anyone once he hooks onto them and this overly spammed mechanic is near continuous in most games all whilst having wide radius damage in general, This grants no real challenge on hogs part whilst making it a challenge for others in any given team, Nothing should be so favored to the point a character can wipe teams simply due to having more health and regen, I’m aware Bastion and Torb can pressure him to a degree but this cannot conventionally work for most teams or maps, This needs to be done for Hog to earn wins like others in the roster.
From the pov if a tracer player, its not that huge, but I can relate that it might be a lot harder with less mobile heroes.
Hog punishes wrong positioning, keep an eye on it. Maybe theres something to improve.
Also CC and anti heal nade are good against him.
Or a Hog on you own, if hook is used, the hog with hook wins 100%.
As tracer i just dance around him, let him heal, and kill him.
A bit timing to bait the hook, after he’s free meat.
He basically gives you a full pulse bomb.
Which directly gets delivered to his supporters.
I’d wait patch 32 with the armor changes etc until we make new nerfs already.
But i agree, hog is a strong hero, always visible in dm and he never misses a elimination game.

yep, I struggle killing roadhogs even at point blank range with reaper.
You need more than 1 clip and in that time he’s likely to 2-shot you.
Luckily, reaper is being buffed soon.
He is a huge big lump though, head shots are easier, projectiles easier to land and he has many counters.
I often “duck” after he hooks me, which probably helps 50% of the time.
Wait for him to pop his self heal and then nuke him with burst damage heroes, personally good hogs are not that common in my experience but good ones are a pain.
lol, you can easily kill him with 3 shots and if his hook is on cooldown he is a free kill for a reaper, disregarding healing he or not
- He is hard to kill because he is a TANK.
- His HUGE hitbox is basically a free enemy ultimate charging machine, that’s why in OWL no one plays him, if you’re smart you just tunnel him and you’ll never ever miss a shot due to his large body, and quick ultimates.
His attack range is also pretty short, even with it’s current state not a lot of players play him, if they nerf it the whole hero will dissapear forever.
should be maybe for everyone, but a tank BUSTER.
I’m sorry, but if you are having trouble killing a Roadhog as Reaper you seriously need to shape up.
As far as the entirety of this topic goes, no. Just no. Hog is one of the worst, if not the absolute worst heroes in this game. He has absolutely no identity and purpose right now. His damage output is not greater than that of the other off-tanks, who all bring more utiltiy to the table. Hog’s hook is not a guaranteed kill against a competent team, while him being immobile and large (with a big critbox too) makes him a very good target for farming ult charge for any ranged character.
Every single ability he has is semi-channeled, and can be interrupted, placing it on full cooldown (which are average cooldowns by the by), while his ultimate is one of the worst ultimates in the game.
He is nothing but a moving battery that can survive a lot thanks to the damage reduction and self heal, but with this also feeds the enemy.

I fully agree with the above - I feel hog is in a great place right now in terms of counter play. He is a fantastic dualist (Seriously, whats with people and feeling like they can run at a hog and win, thats not a good idea, ever) but his play style gets less and less effective as the enemy team works together and he has a plethora of counters available. As soon as you start giving the hog player the respect they deserve (I.E. don’t run at them and play around cover, respect that hog can and will kill you if you try to outgun him on open ground), you’ll find their effectiveness drops massively, but if you absolutely need help countering hog:
Ana - absolutely ruins hogs day, a fear good ana’s as a hog main, seriously, she ruins him.
Snipers - Hog’s got relatively short range, stay in cover and try to peak him.
Brig - Repair pack basically counters hook if you’re quick enough
Zarya - Same as above, watch for the hook on yourself though if your personal shield is down.
Mcree - Rightclick, flash the heal and rightclick again, can kill a full hp hog, just don’t expect to win if he see’s you coming.
Half the battle is your own mentality. Stop thinking “Oh, i’m playing reaper, i auto-counter hog! but he still kills me! He’s unbalanced” and start working around him. Thats how you beat tanks, you fight outside of their effective range and you work around their cool-downs.
The current issue is that most hogs are in the company of a Reinhardt, lucio, junkrat and D.va, this makes Hog near Untouchable in most cases and with this factor in mind it means hog always has an upper hand in most cases, and although hog vs hog could work to some capacity it would slow the game to a crawl in most matches and widowmaker in her current state is easy picked off by Ashe or winston , It’s not the issue of killking hog but rather his continued ease of command on the map, Hog withstands too much compared to others on the roster to the point of having a far greater chance of team wiping due to his total sustainability, This should never be the dominant outcome for any roll even as tank, An element of risk needs to exist somewhere, however I respect your opinion. .

Or this could simply mean people feel dirty playing as Hog because he has the game too easy. My point still stands.
His win rate is either the 2nd- or 3rd-lowest on every single rank among the tanks. In other words: he doesn’t get played, because he is really, really weak - even on bronze.
