I’m honestly at my limit with this.
How is it even possible that in 2025, Blizzard still can’t prevent bots from being in competitive matches? I’ve been playing ranked seriously, trying to improve, trying to climb — but it’s literally impossible when every second match I get stuck with obvious bots on my team.
They either just stand around, run into walls, throw themselves at the enemy team with zero awareness, or they clearly follow a scripted path. You can spot them instantly. And yet, the matchmaker still puts them into my team as if they’re legit players.
Why should I even bother trying to climb when I get punished for something that’s completely out of my control? Every time I lose because of bots, I derank — despite giving my best. It’s demoralizing, frustrating, and frankly makes me want to quit altogether.
And yes, I’ve reported them. Many, many times.
Not once have I received the usual message that “action has been taken.”
It genuinely feels like nothing is being done at all.
What exactly is Blizzard doing to fix this?
How can we trust your ranked system when half of our matches are ruined by non-human teammates?
Please tell me you’re aware of this and actually working on a solution. Because right now, ranked feels like a joke.

First. You will not be playing bots in ranked.
Secondly. The only way to climb is to focus on you. How can you have the most impact possible in each match, and that will in time push your win rate up.
If you keep doing that, you can climb to any rank you want. It’ll just take a lot of time and a lot of good self reflection.
This is beyond delusional, and it doesn’t work like that since OW1 ended. To correct your delusion, this guy is right… in a way. You can climb as any hero, like you said, but only if you are very good at mechanics, map knowledge, enemy hero knowledge, and ability use awareness. This is the only way you “carry” yourself up as any hero, so no, this is not available for everyone. Secondly, you can climb up only if the players’ skill levels are not unbalanced, as they for sure are… this will never be fixed though, it is based purely on luck what people might join to your team. For example, I’m just starting with stadium, 3 games in row lost, because you can carry only first two rounds before builds start kicking in and you are again stuck with your team same as you are in most of competitive games, if enemy dps doing both 6k over the fight and yours not even half, you cannot possibly carry this even if you are mechanical god. If your tank is not tanking and their tank is tanking, you cannot carry, if you have no healer, not even dps healers and their healers heal like 5 of yours, you again, cannot carry. And this is, in reality, how most lower elo games look, one or the other. I’d say this changes after hitting plat.

You mention a lot of single match incidents. They won’t stop you climbing.
I say this as someone who isn’t some mechanical wizard, I just learn to maximise what I can do in each game. And climbed from bronze to GM.
I tell you know, you will play a few cheater, people who just inexplicably throw, leavers, derankers, rage quilters… All very very annoying, but none of it will stop you making progress over seasons. But that climb takes a very very very long time.
The only thing you can do is focus on yourself. Question the things you do, review things and figure out if there was a better option you could have taken. Be extremely harsh on your positioning, it can always be better. If you position better than the enemy, you make yourself instantly a lot harder to beat.
i am struggling with the same bs right now as you do. the only thing you can do and i am very sorry for saying this is to focus on the competitive points. the system is completely broken and should not be taken serious.
take the competitive points with the grain of salt of what this game has created and move on.
What about the system is broken? I’ve never had any issues climbing if I put in the work.
Last time I spoken to someone who made a similar claim, it boiled down to a time thing. Essentially they didn’t play often enough so never made any significant improvements. Meaning they never could push on.
it’s 2025 and it’s insane to see there are people still claiming there’s no “dumb” bots in ranked that just walk around based on a waypoint, not even fire once for the whole match and die despite countless people providing replay codes and youtube videos. humanity is doomed and this game is forked. gg.

I’ve got no issues being annoying. Because I’m right. The dislike just comes from frustration of being wrong and not knowing how to deal with it.
