How are we meant to rank up with the amount of leavers we get while playing Overwatch 2?

Take it from an old timer. The more you care and worry about ranking up the more you will hate this game.

Do yourself a favor and completely forget rank in Overwatch. Play it if it’s fun, that’s all.

If you do care, stop blaming leavers and start analyzing your game because it’s most certainly not the leavers that keep you from climbing.

I’m counting leavers as a serious factor to not climbing. Going down to 4v5 is usually always a loss.

I don’t know what elo you are in but I am playing from bronze (with friends) to dia and I do not have enough leavers to make it account for me not climbing. Sure, they exist, but it’s not the reason I don’t climb

I am ranked silver 2 in damage and bronze in support. I always carry heals and do very well but I always end up with some bad teammates that ruin the game for me and i can’t get out of silver and bronze. My friend is ranked gold but I am much better then him. And then there are those D rankers… blizzard Plz do something

You also get those people who win 5/lose 1, consistently and either derank, or no change at all. Something might be screwy with the SR.

I’m a solo player unfortunately. There is a thread that I use to update when these issues occur, it happens far too often.

I’m D1/M5 at the moment.

People enjoy climbing and strive to get a higher rank, that’s why competitive exists. Shouldn’t have to put up with leavers that completely ruin our placements.

Leavers are normal in every single multiplayer game. I’ve played Overwatch competitively and didn’t have any leavers into my matches tbh. When they happened that’s usually at the end of the game and that’s 1 in 50 games happens…

You’re one of the lucky ones then.

They do indeed, but those games usually have functionality in place to give those leavers time to rejoin without breaking the match. Some also have things in place where the players in the match get no form of loss/win.

Overwatch just has nothing in place.
