How did we get to a point where a DPS player needs to wait 10 minutes for a game?

This role queue system is terrible, the wait time is like-
Tanks: 2 minutes.
Support: 5 minutes.
Damage: 10 minutes.

What the hell?
I get that the DPS role is the most popular (my favorite too), but according to the wait time it’s WAY more popular than the other 2 roles, so that means that the
BIG MAJORITY of players get the short end because of the role queue system.

When you manage to enter a game the role queue system shines, but waiting 10 minutes for it? I prefer to play with 6 DPS players in my team and wait less than 1 minute like it used to be than this.

Any solution to this issue? are the dev team aware that this is a problem?

They should implement a system that cuts your wait time for dps when you first play tank or support. That way more people will also queue for those roles. But they could’ve internally tested that and not get the results they wanted for all we know.

yes this is total nuts, f-ing rq garbage was somehow presented and praised as success by minorities of the whole playerbase.

Very easy: DPS got buffed, buffed, buffed while supports/tanks got nerfed, nerfed, nerfed. It’s not that fun playing underpowered heroes, so most people queue as DPS.
Also, DPS has more variation and more gratification (3 medals just for you, all the positive feedback for hits, crits, elims, your face in the kill feed, PotG, etc). So if you feel that you’re entitled to everything, you play DPS.

Also a support/tank player is more likely to want to relax and play damage compared to a damage playing tank/support to relax

Hopefully they are thinking of cancelling role lock madness.

They artificially increased queue times so that we’d play fewer matches, and wouldn’t notice how absolutely pathetic the “balance” is.

Their own data says otherwise, majority of feedback is positive.

rolequeue isn’t garbage, it’s a great system.

According to the wait time the DPS role is the MAJORITY.
If you have any proof this is not true then post it, otherwise there is no other reason why the DPS role waits a lot more.

And according to the data collected by blizzard, majority positive response to role q.

dps were told their times would go up, nothing to be done.

You can do one of the following;

  • wait
  • play qpc
  • quit
  • pick another role
