Seriously, I try to play a fast paced character, such as Doomfist/Tracer or Genji. But no matter what a Hanzo with good aim feels almost impossible to kill. Especially since he’s good most ranges with high damage output.
I don’t want to call the OP card, I just want to know how to deal with it and adapt accordingly

Try to play around him more, bait him out of his storm arrows, maybe try something like Widow which can one shot a Hanzo.
As someone who plays Hanzo + many supports, I have to say DF, Tracer and Genji should all be enough to counter a Hanzo if you’re good enough. If not… Maybe ask your team to handle him.
Not really hanzo’s at higher elo are really consistent, pretty sure blizzard even said one mistake they made was increasing the arrow speed.
Tbh coming from a guy with 3,9 sr on his widow/hanzo account, i wish they simply deleted snipers since i find they have no place in overwatch, that doesn’t mean i dont find them fun to play.

I couldn’t agree more. Getting deleted from the other side of the map by some camper is just lame. And it’s even worse in QP where every single match there’s probably both Hanzo and Widow on the enemy team.

Hanzo can counter every other squishy character and even some tanks, but I’ve found that playing Hog or Doomfist is good against him.
Hog suck up storm arrow w/ his heal, and Fist can engage him safely if he has shields up.
Would Winston work? Especially if you can keep your head down until after you hear the tell-tale storm arrow shots.
I would say that the best counter for Hanzo is either D.Va or widowmaker each for their own reasons. D.Va because her defence matrix is very good against storm arrow provided you have a pretty full DM “fuel” bar and she can damage with her rockets whilst doing so. Widowmaker because for the most part she can out snipe a hanzo due to her being hitscan and hanzo being projectile.
hanzo can kill winston faster then reaper can.

Thing is dive heroes dont work anymore because of leap.
The leap doesn’t go that far away and the boosters recharge faster
He also has to slow down to fire so you could just get closer

Yeah, you are right! I would only shy away from D.Va because of her wide head which can be exploited by Hanzo and his storm arrows if she doesn’t have her Defense Matrix.
And fair enough, Winston can get mulched if Storm Arrows are shoved into his monkey mouth… best make use of that shield and keep nodding vigourously ^^"
Honestly, I dislike Hanzo’s gameplay completely. Bows and Arrows have been obsolete for centuries, so making them one of the strongest tools in the game goes well beyond bearable romanticized history fiction. The fact that they gave it a “machine gun” interaction kind of makes the whole “ooh, he uses a really outdated weapon” kind of redundant. Really would like to see his whole playstyle changed!
Anyway, this thread is about counters, not wishful thinking for reworks! Widowmaker, though I hate her (I hate all snipers), is indeed a decent counter. But isn’t that mainly due to skill? Yes, she can outrange and deal her damage faster, but it isn’t really a mechanical counter, is it?
She does benefit from being able to counter his “escape”.

there more hanzo’s clips on there but i rarely save em because i am ashamed of how ez this hero actually is compared to others.
Your making scenarios, a good hanzo knows he can outplay a winston and dva. a bad one will panic and waste his coolddowns.
probably not but you have to also remember hanzo is better about 5 meters away instead of 1 meter so a good hanzo might especially against a dva who has shotguns
