I find it odd that people say elo hell does not exist yet say that it’s almost impossible to carry with main tank or a support like Mercy, so if that’s true and you’re a Plat level Mercy player but were placed in Bronze awhile ago, how are you gonna climb out?
i was a healer main for a long time and i said the same thing. i tracked my stats and was getting in like single digit percentiles for healing and thinking i should be climbing.
i learned getting big heals is not how you win or climb, you need to heal and keep up the person or people that are going to win you the game. this person can change from fight to fight.
think of it this way winning team fights wins you games, who do you need to keep alive over the life of someones els in order to win the fight, comes down to choices there is never enough healing to go around if there was the game would not function no one would die. not all heros lives are equal alot has to do with the players playing them as well, or if their ults up or if they are in a high value position so on.

I don’t rely on my teammates as much as a Mercy or Lucio would. That’s why I play Zen, so I can actually output damage and try to get kills. Most the time though, as a Support or Tank you need to rely on your DPS to get the kills. But that means you as a Tank need to be making space and engaging, and as a Support you need to be keeping them alive. I don’t play Mercy/Lucio/Ana because they rely too much on others, and if you’re Solo Queueing you can’t really be taking that risk.

Okay so 2-2-2 is currently the stronget meta, right? So by logic both teams have to have 2 tanks preferably main tank and an off tank, right? So both teams will almost always have 2 tanks and at least 1 mirror role because they don’t want to jeopardize their victory, right? So by that logic all you have to do is be better than the opponents tanks or at least their mirror role and you’ll have +50% winrate and you can climb up simply by grinding as long as you’re better than the opponent’s tank(s).
If you aren’t able to meet these requirements your winrate will drop below 50% and you’ll slowly drop down in SR the more you grind taken that you don’t get extremely lucky with variance. That’s how the system works

Deal damage, thats your only option. Even if you are better at healing stupid it’ll still be stupid so take it in your own hands.
Tanks and supports who can nab kills: Zenyatta, Moira, Roadhog, D.va.
Don’t be a filthy Mercy picker, take the initiative and win the game.
Had a game with 2 gm’s (yes it was qp but it’s still valid)
So our gm was playing mccree so i decided that if he’s a true gm he will do work. I went mercy and just pocket him. Ofc healed others but only when I was sure mccree was save.
He returned the favor and tried to protect me. And hell i really didn’t need to heal anyone else. As long as mccree was alive they couldn’t push onto B on volskaya. Yeah i know, I’m plat and he was gm. But it’s just a bigger difference. He might didn’t evem need a pocket mercy but it made his job so much easier.
If you know who’s gonna do work, you can bigger the impact so they don’t have to search health packs and maybe even do more dmg.
Like if yoi have a god mode widow, providing a shield for her works wonders.
Ofc this won’t directly happen in the lowest tiers.
But you can always punish bad mistakes as a tank and forgive your team for standing in fire by healing them.
If you can’t go dps and do the thing on your own.
I even gave it a all in on OP double insta rezz mercy. Wasn’t able to get out of gold. So i kinda feel you. Thought I can do it with winston. Didn’t work for me. But with tracer finally killing the enemy mercy reliably, pushed me into plat.
I don’t know if you have issues playing other supporters or tanks, if not, you kinda always can do something with synergy which boosts the team viability.
In the end I’m not a support/tank main, so you have to take whatever you can use from my post. Hope the view of a plat dps somehow is useful. Not directly talking to you meyoudodo 
Edit: mercy is really hard to carry a team that isn’t using your support. Better get 1-2 kills as moira.
