How to fix the game (solution easy)

yeah but because you did have for example a barrier that made it possible to pass a certain point on the map without getting your head blown off doesn’t mean it’s gonna happen in the next game after that or after that because it’s such an odd off-chance scenario that doesn’t matter, and it’s not like you can’t do it without a barrier either, but because you have limited yourself to needing that barrier you stop exploring options that could let you do that 1 thing without that barrier expressively.

and then because you can’t come up with a clever solution to your own problem you just break down and say that your character isn’t able to to do that so you pick a different character that has a very obvious way of doing that and now you stopped playing creatively completely because you’d rather take the easy way out without thinking about it.

and that’s the difference between a seasoned player and a casual one.

sometimes you’re not gonna have every easy to access tool at your disposal so you have to play the game beyond what’s expressively given to you so you play the micro levels of game where you wait for them to reload or fire a shot so you are given a time frame where you can pass without needing anything but the forced misplay of the other player that’s shooting your head off.

and that’s why most players won’t grow beyond “trash pick, swap or i’ll leave”

sometimes it’s not about you doing the mistake, it’s what made you do something unnecessary in the first place and how can you make other players misplay by just changing how you approach them.

a very common thing among reins about this is the shield flicker, who shatters first.

pro. seasoned. casual.

None matter.

If you are playing a game and actively deciding not to learn and be better. Then you have wasted your money.

People will learn a bit, and improve a bit subconsciously. If you can’t watch a better player and pick up something… that says more about you than anything… Like how did you even manage to get through school if you couldn’t pick things up from those that know more than you…

ok as a kid you would know how to do string theory without knowing basic math properly, just because you can’t do string theory means you should abandon doing math…

there are things that will come more naturally to a person which is very easy to grasp and there are abstract things that pro players do to play the game at a higher level to compete, it’s a different ball game.

there’s a reason why there isn’t many fighting game players despite all of them being excellent games to play, because they have this preconceived notion that they have to be able to play like pros or don’t bother playing at all.

are you saying that people must be reaching to become a pro player to be able to enjoy a game of overwatch? ofcourse not.
but before you say anything there’s a lot of people who are turned off by games because the barrier to entry is too high which is the dumbest thought you could have.

if it looks fun to play, play.
right? who are you to say “you must learn this or don’t bother playing at all”

No. I am saying people should trying learning to play the game.

Even if it is just something small like what heroes synergise better with others.

No one can be playing this game without learning something about how to play it properly, unless you are either…
a) lacking the intelligence to observe and absorb information
b) actively trying to not learn

that’s not small, something small would be to use your abilities.
synergies are an abstract thing that constantly changes depending on the composition and it’s not that important to playing the game at a normal level especially if you want to play the characters you like.

because you would most likely start limit yourself to characters that only benefits the team without any good context behind it because “it’s what you’re supposed to do” and then they get turned off by the game because they never get to play the characters they like and then they leave.

like there’s about 20 steps before they even get to thinking about composition that they need to even have a normal game of overwatch, and even then composition isn’t really all that benificial to anyone between bronze to diamond basically. which is everybody who’s playing the game casually.

If you think "my team has picked this, i should consider one of these) is “not small” then this shows why the game had issues.

Having a basic understanding of what the heroes in the game do is the first thing you should learn.

If you you can’t even do that, then I feel sorry for you.

that’s not synergy thinking though, that’s basic knowledge of knowing what the enemy and your allies are capable of, synergy is actually trying to capitalize on the picks your picking which is far out of the scope of any casual especially in a solo environment because you’re relying on a unreliable partner to be able to make that synergy happen to begin with.

and you’re better off not trying to synergize with a teammate and simply play around the situation at hand infront of you, there’s a difference between playing the mistakes your opponent and your team makes and playing between the expectation what your team and the opponent is capable of.

just because they have a widowmaker doesn’t mean they can hit headshots as good as a pro player so it becomes an unreliable teammate and an enemy you can easily disregard.
those are basic things that people miss because “synergy is important” no fundamentals are important, until then don’t worry about abstract team thinking because it has no relevance if the team can’t perform what they need to on a consistent basis.
