I’m trying to learn tank, i know… i know… the tank role feels bad, but i really get a kick in killing you dps/support players, it’s like i’m some crazy person, i really get a thrill in killing you dps/support mains.
Anyway back on point, i don’t care about favourite heros and all that nonsense, i’m happy to use the most toxic… broken tank even if it makes dps/support players mad if it gets me the win. Yall are happy using ana/zen so i’m happy in using roadhog and hunting you down… kinda like hunting some pray.
But on a serious note i feel like i’m dying way to fast on tank, i’m in high gold/low plat. Like this 20% healing reduction feels terrible to be perfectly honest. So what should i consider when playing tank, should i counter swap and make it a hobby to make the other tank life’s miserable, which i’m more than happy to do believe me, i’ll hunt down the enemy tank as if hes my pray, beleave me, if you play a certain tank which i find annoying ill do everything in my power to win and show you who the alpha is and crush your team and drink from their skulls.
Now if your a dps/support main reading this… i’m that roadhog that hooked you, it felt bad right, good.
You are evil. How dare you play Hog and claim to be a tank player. lol.
Seriously though. If you think you are dying too fast… Positioning is the first thing I’d look at,.

I’m not a tank main, but as a gold support main.
If you feel like you keep dying far too fast, try to play around cover.
I know it’s a very basic thing, but super important regardless.
Baiting or at least keeping in mind ana’s cooldowns is always a good idea.
And if you’re playing a tank with high burst damage, please check the killfeed on occation. If you see your supports dying to a flanker, please murder that flanker a few times.
An avarage support will be so happy with you, that they will be likely to pocket you from then on out. I know i would.
The higher you climb, the less you need to babysit supports, but in gold and low plat it’s very appreciated…
I’m sure people who play more tank than i do will be able to help you more than i can.

Not sure “pocketing” is advisable unless it’s specifically a player that you know is carrying/can carry…
All part of the learning experience as you gain more experience you’ll know how to avoid bad situations better…
A lot of the time it can be unavoidable however…
If you haven’t decided on which tank you want to go with I’d suggest Reinhardt because he’s really fun…

If the tank keeps me alive while the dps keep trying to 1v5 repeatedly without even trying to group up, i’ll keep pocketing the tank.
If the dps are doing their jobs, that means the tank will be able to stay alive without pocketing as long as they’re not actively throwing.
Between a feeding tank and a feeding dps, it’s better to focus heal the tank as they stay alive longer than 1.5 seconds while being healed.
