Good way to dodge, ngl.
You should have just said that you have something to do and you’re out, though.
Sorry can’t hear you over all your trolling and deranking.
Kinda weird when you call others trolls when you don’t agree with them yet when people say the same to you, you chew them out lmfao.
Difference being you are a troll that tried to belittle a player for little to no reason.
Good for you.
You’re response has been noted and filed in the bin.
Try again without belittling or insulting them.
(Even the pro players complain about the visual clutter from time to time, so I’m not sure a skill verdict is required).
you really can’t remove clutter because it’s all feedback to you as a player aswell.
the only one i was able to cut down on myself is the floating text graphic for where the points are which did mess up my aim sometimes or made it harder to see enemies clearly at some point due to distraction.
but 6 barriers intersecting each other etc is not gonna go away, game is chaotic and that’s kinda how it is.
if you want less clutter you should take a look at other games.
because at the end of the day, we all are dealing with this clutter chaos.
This is true. But I think the OP is trying to say somethings could be made a little sharper, simpler so when they are all combined there is a fraction more clarity. Not just a ball of light, colour and sound.
The game also has very limited provisions for disabilities, outside of colour blindness. Be interesting to see if something could be done for some conditions. Like those sensitive to louder noises. There could be a lot more scope with volume controls.
Even id like a volume slider for individual team members and I have no issues.
well i just want the enemies to be completely red, but i’m not gonna get that.
you know why? competitive equality.
if you can increase and decrease particular volume settings you could easily just pick up on all the enemies movement without getting bombarded with shot noises.
weapon models too, there are actually skins that are better or worse that hides less of the screen, there’s a reason for why everybody in any competitive tournament in overwatch uses their team skins or the standard basic skins.
reality is, if you can’t handle a flashing fireworks spectacle you probably shouldn’t play overwatch because overwatch is probably the biggest offender for flashy insane in your face stuff.
it’s actually one of the popular complaints about tanks that you can’t see a thing sometimes because your screen is completely filled up with flashing graphics.
The ability to adjust the volume of your individual team mates mics is definitely needed.
As for can’t handle. That is basically heading down the path of stopping people with certain disabilities from playing the game. And that is a dangerous path the walk down.
I’m not saying change volumes for specific hero stuff, becasue the ingame sound is actually well balanced and adjustable. But because not everyone has the same mic, or volume, or even level of thoughtfulness… when they communicate it’s all over the place. People with hyperacusis for example. You could have the game just right, but one fool with his mic too loud could cause you a lot of pain.
For me. Id like to be able to hear everyone, but have the shot caller a bit louder than the rest, so adjusting individuals would be delightful.
that’s why you play with a team you do know because you set that up before hand.
if you’re sensitive to sound and you can’t control others mic volume you’re obviously not gonna use that feature of the game.
there’s a point where disability even in a video game setting can be hazardous to the competitive spirit of it.
you can’t remove everything that can cause an issue for people with disabilities or you’d never be able to finish making the game in the first place too.
and as i said, there are other games that does cater to other people either with disabilitites or taste a lot more.
or do you insist on putting in an easy mode for dark souls aswell?
Like I said. Dangerous path to walk down.
A small QoL change, that doesn’t impact the game and can be a benefit everyone is surely a sensible idea. Seems odd to just claim that disabled people maybe shouldn’t play games…
And telling anyone that they can’t play because they have a disability is not a good look.
You could be denying some of the best players if you ring fence everything off.
people process information(esp visual information) differently id say his claim has merit and youre just a trolling bully
often enough you don’t have to pamper any of them because they will find a way of their own to enjoy it.
i do not underestimate people with “disabilities” and neither should you.
and actually it’s you who are pretty much saying, that they can’t play just because they have a disability so you have to make a game specifically for them or else they are unable to.
No. I am asking for a game feature that has been asked for by a lot of the top players that I believe would be really useful, that could also be of benefit elsewhere.
Difference.
yeah but a few more accessibility settings wouldnt hurt yknow
youre not giving disabled players an advantage - youre levelling the playing field by putting in accessibility features. and trust me we re already adapting, coming up with solutions and trying to find ways to make the game fun/playable to us.
why are you so hard pressed abt a guy talking about trying to figure out how to make the exp of playing the game more enjoyable/easier to process?
EDIT: also why put disabilities in quotation marks lol do you not believe in them or sth
because i don’t think of them as any worse players and as my equals, brolylegs can do things i can’t pull off myself, he’s an inspiration to me.
all i’m saying it has to be handled with care as to not trivialize content that’s supposed to be challenging for everyone.
and as the topic at hand describes at removing clutter, the same clutter that’s actually giving you feedback or is making the game equally as challenging for everyone.
i mean they can try to either make the game playable for people who have trouble with flashing lights or let it just be a reality that exists and they can simply just choose to not play a game that has flashing lights as one of those aspects that makes the game hard for everyone and is actually giving players a built in disadvantage and also serves as a function to give feedback.
this topic is not about making the game accessable for disabled people in general, this topic is about removing clutter/visual feedback.
if you want to champion a cause to make an aspect of the game more accessable to disabled people then make a new topic for it because OP did not say they have a disability and can’t play the game for it.
they just wants a competitive advantage over others who have the same experience as they do.
By that same theory they shouldn’t give colour blind options.
But they do.
Also, you say they want a competitive advantage over others… Surely reducing some of the visual clutter would mean everyone is still on the same playing field… I am not sure of your argument there.
His argument is not for a settings option. It is a game wide cleaning up of things.
well they could remove all the ultimates and abilities, that would surely remove a lot of flashing lights and visual clutter.
as for your point, yes you can make certain things more accessable for disabled people but that’s not what OP is.
they just want less or no clutter, and seeing as this clutter also doubles as visual feedback, what are you gonna do about it?
stop railroading the topic into something it isn’t.
make your own topic about it if there’s something you want to discuss, this topic isn’t about disabled people.
colorblind mode is great, and i don’t see an issue with it, but how do you make less visual clutter without removing visual feedback.
What am I going to do about it?
Argue that their point is valid as this would make the game a much more visually pleasing experience and such things could lead into options to accessibility options as discussed.
Colourblind mode is an accessibility option for people with a specific disability, there should be considerations given to others where possible. Such as the ability to adjust the mic volume of individuals in your team. Which will be good for everyone because there is always that one clown that’s too loud, or the little mouse you can barely hear.
