I’ve been having this issue which makes me unable to play the game at all.
I use the french AZERTY layout of the keys using windows.
As of late, when I press “S” my character moves backwards and when “D” is pressed it moves to the right.
Pressing “W” on my keyboard, which is in reality the key “Z” due to the french layout shows my ultimate state in chat.
The keybind who would normally make me move to the left doesn’t do anything at all.
I’ve tried many options, such as passing onto QWERTY layout, and even changing my windows language completely, nothing helped.
I’m out of ressources, please help.
This may not have been that clear, as it is hard to explain without having direct video footage of it.
Maybe look at the control settings in overwatch? ( in the options menu ingame) Are the keybindings in game still set as they should be?
Or maybe repair ow, (via the launcher), or set to default settings in game. Maybe that works
I did reset all the in game settings to default already, unfortunately that didn’t work.
I somehow got it to work yesterday but now it’s back to where I started.
The in game keybindings are as they should be, but somehow still are unable to work.
I tried another keyboard and that issue still appears.
Maybe the usb connector is broken? You can check if it works when you plug the keyboard in an other usbport. If that doesnt work either, i hope someone else knows what else you can try
I forgot to mention that my keyboard works absolutely fine in every other game I play.
I tried swapping the layout into qwerty that didn’t do anything.
To me it seems like qwerty and azerty merged together somehow in overwatch.

I have the same right now, ya I know… 6 years later with overwatch 2. But I really don’t know how to fix it. I use the french layout too, but whatever I try, overwatch keeps changing the inputs to qwerty even when I change my settings to moving forward with “W” instead of “Z” and so forth, I’m really confused.
