I can't change any options

Hello, i can’t apply any of my changed options, it just says i need to restart the game to apply the options. But when i restart everything is set to default.
Thankful for answer.

Hi, oliver200503! o/

Usually this means that the game can’t modify the options file. You can find the options file in your Documents folder. Then Overwatch, then Settings. You’ll see a file called Settings_v0. Delete this file and see if that helps.

I’ve also seen some players report that if you sync this folder through OneDrive, this can cause OneDrive to copy again the file saved on the Cloud back. While deleting the file should resolve this too, try to disable the sync with OneDrive for this folder and see how that goes

Hello Agaleith, i don’t have a settings file. What do i do?

Hi again, oliver200503! o/

I admit that’s new… good news is that it explains why it’s not saving the settings. When the game launches, it tries to load the settings from the settings file. Since the file is not there, it goes to default.

Now, why would the file not be there? One of the possible reasons is permissions. Can you completely delete the Overwatch folder in Documents? That should resolve any possible permissions issue with that folder.

Of course, trying to launch the game as admin can help. To do this, in the Blizzard application, under the Overwatch logo, click on Options. There, Create Desktop Shortcut. Then, on your desktop, right-click on the created icon and Run as Administrator.

Another possibility is that your antivirus or security software is deleting the file as soon as the game creates it (a program modifying or creating a file can always look suspicious to security software). Can you try to disable your security software temporarily, or add the Overwatch folder in Documents to the exceptions?

Let us know if any of these help.
