I don’t have any phone number, only mobile data SIM without any calls/SMS support. Does this make me unable to play OW2? I bought OW so I guess I’m not a F2P player?

Potentially yes.
- Use a parent/grandparents/neighbors/friends number.
- there is an app you can pay temporarily have a number that will give you access.
- get a SIM card that will allow you to play, but don’t sign up for a contract.

f2p just buy a phone, a contract, a horse, a car, a goat, bake a cookie, make a french soup and you are all done if you have a virgins blood … and a witch to make this all mix together

You can choose to walk away if you don’t have what is required.

You didn’t buy OW1 though. You paid for access, and agreed to the EULA which stated they could take that access away for “any or no reason”.
So, not a lot of sympathy here sorry.

funny you only talk about digital content, but imagine if you have bought ow in a store on a dvd, at the purchase date u dont have to sign eula so no… you are still wrong

Same applies, disc isn’t the game. It is the licence key. So again, you paid for access.
You agree to the EULA when you install, or hit play, can’t remember the exact point.

This statement here shows you have literally no idea what you are talking about.
Sadly, the facts are simple. You DO NOT buy the game. You DO buy a licence/key. When you apply that licence and install the game you have to agree to the EULA.
At that point you have given them the right to remove everything from you for any reason they decide. Like, lets say, deactivating the game and releasing a sequel.

It is not that easy. They took away access to a game you bought. In Germany, they can get sewed for that.
They have to provide download and access for the games you bought. Sadly they could allow you to start the game on the main menu and it would be okay.
Btw: I entered my phone number but it did nor work because it was a prepaid number.
maybe if you say you’re from the lgbtabc crew, they’ll let you in for free and all the battle passes forever free too
You don’t have lick the boot that hard dude. We shouldn’t have to put a phone number in with what blizzard decides is a “proper” plan/country code to play a game that doesn’t even work day one. Like there are literally people who spent money for the watchpoint pack or battle pass and weren’t made aware that they now can’t play the game.
Also regardless, if you purchased overwatch one you should be able to play period, because you don’t have a choice! I can still play older call of duty games, and if I spent $60 on it I’m going to! OW is only 6 years old, and now even if You bought the game last week with this new sms thing you could just be SOL since you’re forced into meeting qualifications for a game you didn’t purchase!
They can put what ever restrictions they choose in, as long as it’s legal.
Doesn’t matter if we like it or not, they are free to do it.
