I don't understand how to jump as winston

I mean how do I small jump. When I press shift to jump then press S I still jump far. How do I do small jumps? I can’t seem to do it.

You can’t. His jump is a normal jump, like any other hero. His LEAP is a CD ability and is also a set power/distance so you can’t control either. You jump or you leap. Or you jump then leap to get a little more distance. Either way, it’s a good idea to get used to their distances and timing.

I don’t play Winston much but the general rule of thumb is

LEAP on to enemy back line, use shield if needed, attack enemy healers, and when your LEAP is back off of CD, LEAP away again to safety for heals.

Nevermind I figured it out. You press S when you press leap so it covers a small distance. Cheers.

Jump will put you in the air for a while.
During which you can still move.
The best to do is to jump straight right up (by looking up first) then take a look and move toward an interesting destination.

Whether you look right up or not you max distant covered is the same.
It could be 0 if you jump straight up without using WASD.

if you hold S wile pressing shift you will do a small leap. if you jump at the same time as shift you will do a farther one
