I think i know how we could balance Brigitte

I think we can all agree that Brigitte has had an enormous impact on the meta and that she has made close combat and flanking harder if not impossible at some ranks. I think this impact is apparent because of her stun. It is undoubtedly the hardest thing to counter in the game. All other stuns have a way of stopping them such as eating a flashbang, blocking a shatter and even pre-stunning the other stun. The problem with Brigitte’s is that she can do it instantly with little to no travel time, she can do it without a way of stopping it and she can do it with a very short cooldown.

The Problem: A big bad stun that is hard to counteract and has swapped the meta every which way.

A Possible Solution: Add a reel back time to the bash like with Rein’s charge or even just make the cooldown drastically longer.

I believe that adding a reel back time would give any character on the business end time to react and it wouldn’t take Brigitte out of the meta whatsoever seeing as her kit is still pretty strong. The reel back would give flankers time to jump out of the way and give other stun users (like McCree) time to possibly counter stun if they have the correct reflexes. I would very much like to see the meta calm down a bit and I feel that this may be the fix we need. If you’d take this into consideration, it’d be much appreciated.

I completely agree with you, I am of the opinion that brigitte’s boop and stun should be swapped out with one another, make the stun the skill hit with the flail (Lshift), and the boop the bash with the shield.

This way if you do get stunned by a brigitte, she at least deserves to hit it, also I am of the opinion that if this would be changed, genji should be able to deflect this flail (similar as hog hook vs reflect interactions). The same would then count for shields, the stun would be blocked by shields so the whole reinhardt being stunned though his shield issue would be resolved aswell.

I disagree - the proposed 7 seconds on her stun is long enough and keeps her in the tank/support hybrid. I think her issue is her ability to survive. If she misses her combo, she just lingers until it can be cast again. That’s not an issue with the stun but the fact she lives. I think she needs a health nerf/shield health nerf or have a reduction on the amount of healing she receives from her passive. The issue i think is she doesn’t feel like she can be punished for making a mistake.

Or swap the flail/bash abilities around. So her flail is a stun and her bash is a more damaging knockback. The key idea behind this is that flail is harder to hit but still keeps her the same on the core

I may see this as an alternative. I like this idea, but it doesn’t make too much sense ability wise. Like if i get smacked with a flail, i wouldn’t be stunned, but i do think it is a good idea nonetheless.
