am i the one who always get this, or is that because my skill issue? this kinda making me kinda anxious in comp tbh
It’s a psychological thing.
You remember losses more clearly than wins, and losses are never your fault… Obviously.
The best way to play is to focus on your mechanics, how you synergise with your team. If it goes south, so be it. But don’t blame your team, it’s a bad habit to get in
How Snowpokeyzx,
Take a look at the comms post from the devs:
https ://overwatch.blizzard.com/en-gb/news/23896785/
We’ve got changes coming to the game over the next few months which will dramatically reduce these disparities. We’ll try to find pairs of similarly rated players in each role when making a match. For support and damage roles, which have two slots, each player will be paired with one player on the opposite team. There will still sometimes be matches with a large range of differently skilled players, but in these cases, the two teams will be more like mirror images of each other.
Basically the matchmaker locates players that are similiar, but it can place a high skilled player as a tank, and a low skiled player as the other thank, which can then leads to disparity in the match. They’re looking to match at a role queue level, so a high skilled tank will be match with a high skilled tank, the two dps may have two low skilled each, and so on.
As they say, “by doing this, the two teams will be more like mirror images of each other.”
As and when they do this, you’ll hopefully see an improvement in the matches!
Take want you want from this, but at least you’ve got an actual source to relate to here
Good luck buddy.
The matchmaker…
Why you copying and pasting that here. There is no issue with the match maker mentioned here. Just unnecessary spam.
Sometimes this can also be caused by communication.
Perhaps the other team used their comms and pings better. Maybe they were a group that has been playing together for years.
There are several reasons outside of that as well. Maybe they played heroes that your teammates don’t play against often. Maybe their positioning was better.
When this happens we can just do our best to figure out what works against them. See if there’s an ability on the enemy heroes that you could swap to counter better and if that helps.
See the scoreboard for hints when respawning. If there’s nothing glaringly obvious then get back to regular gaming, but if you’ve died more than the rest of your team maybe pick a hero with more survivability.
If the overall damage is low, go for a hero with abilities that you know you can land.
Would a more disruptive hero work as well? A character that you could go and murder their supports with is a good shout, but as always if it doesn’t seem to be working don’t stubbornly stick to it. Some heroes just don’t play well together and our favourites aren’t neccasarily the best choises on all maps.
I’m responding to OP, he can take from this what he wants - I don’t care for you opinion.
But you still respond lol.
I get you don’t like the match maker, we all do now. But, at least wait for a match maker problem to raise it. Shoehorning it into every query is just sad.
Be more like Hieiko. Perfect explanation of something that may well be the route cause of the problem.
I have. The devs have reported that they’re aware of the issue, I have also called it out before. I’ve provided a source.
You typing basically that “its a you problem” does not help as you have no proof - unless you have a source to this, maybe a few codes from OP?
Be more like me or Hieiko, provide solid facts with sources, or provide suggestions as to what could be to help him - Telling him it’s his problem does not help.
Ok. But totally irrelevant to the OPs post. Keep matchmaker spam to matchmaker issues.
Where did I say “a you problem”. I’ve said it’s psychological. Something we all think “team bad” when in fact there is usually a long list of circumstances, some of which Hieiko excellently pointed out.
That is your opinion. If you read the title of the post you’ll hopefully understand, but then again, my response was to Op. Clearly you’re not understanding so I’ll break it down for you. Here you go:
If they succeed in doing this then:
I’ll highlight this part so that it is very clear to you:
As can be seen - this can cause a team to be weaker than the other.
This is where you basically say that “its a you problem”. You’re assuming that he is thinking the team is bad, when likely there is a reason for them being bad, and that it is not him problem. As I’ve requested, if you have proof to this then please share it, I would like to see the evidence also.
You yourself might think you are the problem when you lose, that is fine. Not everyone is the same as you.
That is you making an assumption. Maybe I could have explained it better, but I should need to. It is fairly clear. Also, the mention a level of anxiety… So psychological.
The issue is the assumption people are bad, which is an issue we all have when playing. The tendancy is to find fault in others or elsewhere.
You can only control yourself, you can only fix the things you do wrong.
If you sit there saying “team bad, that’s why I lose” you’re refusing to learn anything from your game. If your objective is to improve, that the first step to fix.
I don’t have that problem. If you do, that is fine, you can find ways to deal with it, but not everyone is the same.
Only OP can agree/disagree with that.
Hopefully one of our comments helps.
Blaming team mates, systems, leavers, cheaters is a waste of time, so Ive never done it.
I focus on what I bring and how I can do better. But most importantly having fun.
You’re contradicting yourself here.
“The issue is the assumption people are bad, which is an issue we all have when playing”
“Blaming team mates, systems, leavers, cheaters is a waste of time, so Ive never done it.”
You’re claiming it’s an issue we all have when playing, yet you say you’ve never done it. Which is it?
You can do both. I find myself often berating teammates in my mind, but never out loud since i know i have plenty of faults of my own.
Thus i have blamed my teammates, but also acknowledging that and being better by not actually saying anything and knowing that i should improve my own game.
It’s really easy to blame others, it’s part of being human. The key is to try and be better than that.
You certainly can do both. It depends on the person, everyone is different.
It’s completely legal to criticize others even if you yourself are making [the same] mistakes. It’s even a very constructive thing to do. Anything else is just whataboutism.
Agree.
The skill is HOW you do it. Not that you do it.
Flaming someone and you’re just a fool.
But politely making sensible suggestions, and dropping it if you get ignored is the way.
