Now, I know many of you are gonna see the title mention Mercy and go “ugh” and I get it. I’m not here to say that Mercy is in a bad place, however I do feel like she could recieve a little bit of love. Moira needs a bit more to her kit. So here, are my ideas to help these lovely ladies out a little bit. Open to discussion and replies!
Mercy
I feel like 50hps for Mercy is a little sketchy, under any pressure it can be difficult for the healer to keep anyone alive. So my thoughts are, if just directly buffing the healing from 50HPS > 55/60HPS isn’t healthy or poses an issue of her becoming a must pick. I think adding a lingering effect to her healing and damage boost could help, it would work like this:
Mercy is required to heal damage done for a minimum of 1 second, or damage boost a hero for 1 second, if she swaps to another target after this time, the effect will linger for 1 second. Allowing Mercy to have some kind of “extra healing” or “buff” and would encourage the Mercy player to pocket one target less. It could even just apply to her healing.
Moira
Her healing and DPS is fantastic, numerically she is a fantastic healer, but her complete lack of anything utility makes her a bit of a weak pick compared to Ana and even Mercy.
I would suggest tweaking her orbs to add effects depending on the orb used.
Healing orb: The orb could provide overhealing to her allies to a maximum of 50HPS that cannot be rehealed until its lost. and it auto removes after say 5/6 seconds.
Damage Orb: It could regen her resource to help her resource management more…it could provide detection to any enemies affected by it, I also think there could be some form of slow or ability cooldown slow. even at the cost of less damage from orb.
Coalescence: The ult gain could be decreased so she gains it less, but add both orb effects into her ult.
These could be ways to give Moira utility without totally reworking her.
I look forward to discussions, and I hope perhaps, the devs might see this post. Keep it nice and clean please, at the end of the day we all want to see the game better.
