In a comp match, if the point has already been captured, the ability to leave the match and cause it to be cancelled should be disabled. Losing teams are taking advantage of this to end the game without a loss.
Oh yes i totally agree on that. I’ve seen it happen too many times yet nothing was done about it. I brought it up a few times also but nobody seems to care. King’s Row map is one of those, so either fix the timer for that map or modify the map itself.
For me it was Nepal Sanctum most recently. We got on the point and captured it pretty quickly but then someone on the enemy team left so the match got cancelled.
This is the first time in the two years of me playing that I’ve even heard of this so I’m calling BS.
It is not. You see this all the time especially when there is a group of two people or more in the losing team , one of them leaves game in order for his teammate(s) not to lose any SR, and yes the person that leaves takes a -50 SR but his friends are not affected by the SR loss if the game gets canceled.
I’ve heard multiple cases where the game got canceled after the point was captured because someone left.
If the point is captured within the game cancel timeframes, usually when the enemy team gets stomped, cancelling a match is still possible.
How long is the time limit anyway? It’s one minute after the match starts, isn’t it?
Yes it is one minute.
Though again I haven’t experienced this before much less heard of it so I’m cynical on it being a common thing.
Well, the anecdotal argument that it happens often is definitely debatable.
Nevertheless, it still is unfair for the outperforming team when the enemy team is able to cancel the game by making one player leave.
This can be solved easily by disabling the “match cancel” mechanic when the point is captured.
This however would be quite unfair for people who are playing maps were the objective is easily captured.
Oh I haven’t thought about that.
But are there any maps where you get the
first point easily, even when both teams are equally skilled and coordinated?
I’d say that all the control maps fall under this category with the rest most likely taking around a minute or two to capture if both teams are equally skilled.
yeah this is broken and annoying af.
Yet one could argue, one minute is one minute, regardless of what happens within it.
