so basically you can contest point b forever with pharah and this is how. there’s no bug report section on eu forums so i’m posting it here

Then go to US forums…? Instead of spreading awareness of a game breaking exploit?

What’s the problem? Awareness actually creates the risk of getting caught, reported, and most importantly punished for exploiting a now known bug as well as creating pressure on the devs to fix it asap. It’s preventing the abuse rather than encouraging it.

Although I understand the principle, most of the time the best way to have a bug corrected quickly is to kind of force the hand of developpers by making it known to public. Otherwise, they might wait a couple patches before trying to solve the problem.

It’s also good as now, I know this is not an unintentional bug. It doesn’t randomly happen as someone plays Pharah, you have to go through a long and precise process to recreate it, so I know I should 100% report anyone abusing it.

It’s different from the Sombra teleport into payload bug, as this latter one can happen genuinly in a game pretty easily for example, and it’s not easy to get out of it.

Just as a quick notification, the bug, including the same video has been posted on the US-Bug report forum, too.

It’s actually not doing either of these things. It’s facilitating abuse. People who want to cheat but can’t now can.

This should not be the case for high impact bugs. One game artificially won/lost due to a game breaking exploit is too many

Not at all. The only way to cheat like that is nobody knowing that it’s possible. Now that you know exactly what to look for when the point is being contested without anybody in sight, the risk of getting caught is too high to even try. It removes the biggest motivator in cheating (or crimes): The idea of getting away with it.

In the real world, where getting caught matters? Sure, absolutely. If there was a 100% chance of getting caught, there would be so few crimes being committed world wide.

But, gamers (specifically in this game) have proven that to not follow the same rationale. When the invincible Sym teleporter was well known it became used in almost every game. On Eco-point, when Mei getting into the wall was well known, people did it every single game.

People aren’t deterred the risk of getting caught using exploits. Blizzard don’t care. Blizzard are just going to remove the bug and players who abused it won’t be penalised.

That’s not true. When the Mei bug was corrected, there was then a ban wave towards those who abused it, even once.
