While I get that a lot of heroes didn’t show in the OW2 footage I find really bad that Hanzo wasn’t even shown while Self-insert Genji ofc gets to be in the spotlight.
Considering that the 2 of them SHOULD be part of the same story arc can we just assume that Hanzo is dead since his only purpose was to make Genji the superior one?
Probably because he wasn’t ready to be shown off yet. Remember the game is still a year and more away from being release ready.

As for Hanzo being sidelined, yes, I agree he always has been, just like many other characters that have no real connection to Overwatch or Talon organizations.
D.va, Zarya are probably the most excluded characters, storywise. Bastion too I guess, since the only ever relevant thing to happen to him was becoming pinocchio
Bastion was saved by Torb and now lives with him (hence why he is getting a Torb baseball cap in his updated look).
Zarya is someones bodyguard and is hunting down Sombra.
Hanzo has been asked to join Genji in Overwatch.
There is a good amount of lore out there, but that is why story mode is coming, to move the story on a good chunk.
Those one liners basically tell the whole story for bastion and zarya. For Hanzo add mafia boss, tried to kill his brother and regrets it.
Now compare that to the amount of information, story and interactions of any character that is actually part of overwatch or talon has.

Try the comic Binary. It is that whole story.
And Zarya’s story was in the Sombra short.
You have to remember, current Overwatch is a big beta. An introduction to the world.
They have licences out to tender for animated shows, they have story mode in game coming. Different stories will be told.

he would not be reintroduced into OW2, because I hate his playstyle of spamming arrows to narrow places for kills… but thats just me.
I’ve read the comic. It’s still extremely minimalistic and doesn’t change anything but this argument.
But if you’re happy with the amount of attention that has been given to these characters, compared to someone like Soldier, Ana, Mercy, Reaper, etc, more power to you.
Now if you’re arguing the amount of lore these characters get is even remotely comparable, you’re beyond reason.

No. They just have some.
I play the game. I enjoy what lore there is. But if there was none, ever, the game is still the same and that’s what matters.
There will be more which I am sure will be good.
They won’t release lore unless they have an interesting story to tell. So I guess they haven’t had anything worth releasing for some yet.

hope they will release it in 2 years. I mean look at OW 1. Just bugs and more bugs and no good servers at all. Blizzard dont fix bugs like doom eat hits if glitch around in the air and more. Or the buggy mccree hitbox. Shoot him in the chin, he dont get a headshot just why? Why nobody fix those bugs?
Then look at hanzo with his broken paper arrows.
Or those statements from the devs why they actually buff reaper, the ape and orisa - its just like childs got payed for those statements XD
Or the problem with their amount of servers. Blizzard is rich but nobody care to spend money for more servers xd
Or the problem with the high pings: I dont want to play against high pings as a hanzo main. Just give me the choice to wait longer for a good ping lobby PLEASE BLIZZARD. Or do you need more money from me?

Except all of them are getting some major attention via merchandise and comics (Bastion excluded but he got a whole animated short for him and him alone). Hanzo on the other end exists only because they had to split Genji since it was OP and since Genji is the writer self insert then it’s more than clear that Hanzo has no meaning to exist.
