Since the launch of the latest season, I have been experiencing a large number of, what I believe to be, bot controlled characters in Competitive.
Generally I report them and just move on, but my last two matches, the first two matches of this evening, had bots.
The second match consisted of me and another human being, paired with 3 bots.
Why do I think they’re bots?
They don’t respond to either text or voice chat.
They stare at walls occasionally.
Myself and the other person were actively contesting the point, and the 3 bot teammates were stood OFF point, just looking. Hanzo, Genji, Rein, just /afk, doing nothing.
Once we died, they then moved on to the point one by one.
Is it just me, or are there more bots floating around this season?
The systems are too aggressive on that stuff atm. Really too easy to ban a suspected cheater, they don’t last long.
Check Chazm out. Top ranked tank player… Tries to level a new account, plays soldier… Banned for cheating in the first game. Even though not a cheater.
Not on console atleast but its harder to do it there lol. But i imagine there would be more bots in ow2.
The game is free after all, if you get banned you just make a new account. People are less inclined to cheat if they risk getting banned in a game they have to buy to make an account. f2p games nearly always tend to have huge cheater problems, atleast in the fps genre
Cronus zen and Xim devices are used by a lot of console players and aren’t currently detected. Something that will soon be changing. But for now, you can essentially cheat for free on console
Theoretically, whilst there is more cheaters there will be more normal players. Effectively diluting the impact. Going to 5v5 also meant even less chance of encountering these low life’s.
Luckily, OW seems pretty brutal and is banning people for just being good very early on.
Only way to is risk and old account, or buy an old one. But you won’t last long atm.
yeah but mouse and keyboard ximming can be dealt with because the cheaters generally are not good anyway. On the pc however stuff like aimbot or wallhacks are just way wayyyy more annoying to play against or with
There 100% is an increase in bots. If a person hasn’t seen it, they won’t understand. Please open a ticket with Blizzard. This is a metal rank issue so they’re not gonna care unless we force them to.
If you’re concerned people aren’t “seeing it”. The best course of action is to provide games for VOD reviews
Don’t name players directly as that’s a no no, but just mention times and heroes and people can review and learn from it. This hopefully be able to spot this action in their games.
NGL, your attitude is kind of off-putting considering you clearly have no idea what we’re talking about. Here is a replay code from today, the Ana and Lucio were either completely afk or bots, and I have seen far more extreme examples. This is a daily occurrence. MK59Z9.
Best i can say is play on console, you are less likely to see aimbotters or wallhackers. If you dnt mind controlling your character like you are parking a truck
They are just 2 players deranking in a duo. So 100% not bots, just 2 that need to be reported under cheating.
Nothing you can do here, just got to report, take the L and move on.especially as on the defence you were the only one on your team that remotely tried.
It’s odd, higher up it’s easier to derank whilst looking like you’re at least trying to play the game.
As you get lower, to derank you need to hard throw and it slowly becomes easier to win than lose. (Deranking just isn’t worth the effort).
