Hi, I was wondering if there any possibility to change servers? Since I’m playing on EU, but most of the time I get russian in my lobby, it’s pretty hard to communicate with people that don’t understand English, just screaming at you and most of the time lossing the ranked games. I undesrtand that part of russia is Europe, but cmon, I don’t think that most of the players are russian here.

blizzard has removed the option to manually change servers. there is a workaround, but it’s not officially supported by blizzard. You can use a paid VPN service to change your perceived location, tricking the game into putting you into a different server region. Note that free VPN services usually aren’t fast enough, so you’ll probably need to go with a premium one.

My friend had a setup with Mudfish which would (back in the day) force west coast, no matter what. She was Australian so it was sort of necessary for us to play in comp, and also, east coast was really unlucky back then and I had bad ping there, while my ping on west coast was 7 because I lived very close to Irvine.
How she did it I have no idea, she was the coder I was just a dps no brain. Helped a lot though, 7 vs 80 ping on precision heroes at high rank is very noticeable.
Fraed, when could you ever manually change servers? Did that happen after 2019? I do not remember ever being able to do that. It was always location based on the group or player, and what games were available to be matchmade at the time in a reasonable timeframe (it would rather put you in a different server in 5 minutes than make you wait 20 minutes, for example).
If it was after 2019 I wasn’t playing, but definitely did not exist before. Unless you meant the region changing, which is not the question here, as there are individual servers within the regions that are different (EU includes both of what he is mentioning). Especially since there are now servers in some interesting places like Saudi.
Been playing since 2018, always been there since i think 2021 or 2022 during the great dying where they region locked everyone to make each non na region appear less dead

You can select a preferred region in the Battle.net client before launching the game. Other than that, there is no straightforward way to choose servers.

blizzard matches your game with no quality, when they cannot match blizzard puts you on another server, ends up with high ping, and then loses the game.
and you can do nothing about it because you cannot choose server which is very stupid,
unless the can ensure you stay in your region server without giving you the choosing server options, and they cannot do it also. funny
