Issue in Quick Play Non-Serious Players Ruining the Experience

I am an Overwatch 2 player on PlayStation 5, and I am facing a serious issue in Quick Play that is making the game frustrating and unenjoyable.

In 8 out of 10 matches, I frequently encounter multiple players (sometimes entire teams) who do not play seriously. Instead, they spend the match goofing around, emoting, waving at enemies, and not engaging in actual gameplay.

When I leave these matches due to the lack of proper competition, I get penalized with a ban, even though I am not the one ruining the experienceĆ¢ā‚¬ā€I simply want to play the game properly.

I understand that Competitive mode exists for serious matches, but I am not looking for a highly competitive environmentĆ¢ā‚¬ā€I just want to enjoy casual games where players actually participate and play the objective. Quick Play should be a place for casual yet functional matches, not a mode where people completely ignore the game.

This issue has made Quick Play frustrating and unenjoyable, as it is difficult to find a proper match. I kindly ask you to take action against players who repeatedly engage in non-serious behavior and to reconsider the punishment system for players who leave because of such situations.

Best regards,

To be fair, quick play is designed for ā€œnon-seriousā€ players.

Ranked is if you want to take it a bit more seriously.

Faceit coming soon if you want to be really serious in a team and play tournaments.

That is sabotage.

Competitive is the hardcore mode
QP is the base, normal mode to play (try to win always, but relax)
Arcade/Customs is the casual, goof around, no one cares about objectives mode.

Personally I’ve always deemed that to be qp. Test heros, fool around with friends… it’s just the non-serious gamemode.

That’s what I do in comp. I casually play… idc what my rank is I am just there to have a fun game. As long as I am satisfied with my performance I don’t care if we win or loose.

Maybe for you to enjoy the game the only solution is to see comp just as any other gamemode and not think of it as highly competitive -(I don’t see it that way either… but then I am also not a very competitive person).

Competitive is the ladder mode

Faceit will be the hardcore mode.

It’s a lot cause, an overwhelming majority of players don’t care so there’s no game as it was intended to be played anymore. Players just mash buttons until the time is up and pretend to be satisfied… This game has been ruined by players long ago and the system protects them, if you call them out they get upset and report you then you get banned.

There are many ladders, like OQ competitive, those are hardcore too.

Faceit is a different type of ladder. We still dont know how ā€œhardcoreā€ it is compared to regular competitive.

We don’t. But it is being sold as the ultra competitive, team based mode. With social systems to help you find a team if you don’t have one

I think best way to think of competitive is as the challenge mode.

For once I agree with you.

Quickplay is a chill mode, not a serious one.

Exactly.

Ranked, but more serious.

Faceit, a lot more serious.

Simple system, with something for most people.
