Joined Chat With 0/x Players in Chat

Hi there,

I recently got a new PlayStation and Overwatch to play with my friends, however when I join the in-game chat with them, it simply states that I joined with 0/x number of players, suggesting that I myself am not in the chat either.
On my friend’s feed it states that I did join the chat successfully, though we can’t hear each other.

I also cannot join the in-game chat with which you join when not in a party (just in a match).

I and my friends have been baffled by this problem and have tried multiple solutions found online, most of which were PC users having this issue. I have unplugged the mic and plugged it back in; I have repeated that while also closing and reopening the application; and I’ve changed the auto-joining options to “no” and joined manually to no avail. I just can’t seem to figure out the problem.

Unfortunately I don’t have another PlayStation compatible headset or a different PlayStation to troubleshoot with; although I can confirm that the in-game chat system used in Destiny by Bungie does work as intended.

The headset I use is the Klim Impact, a USB headset that is compatible with the PlayStation.

I would also like to mention that I used to be able to join without trouble when I first got this headset, but it has since become a problem.

Any help or information would be greatly appreciated; thank you.

Hello SwissxPiplup,

I’ve seen some similar cases where the players fixed it by changing the DNS in their PlayStation. If you want to give it a try, go to Settings > Net Settings, and set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.8.4

I would also try power cycling your console:

  1. Shut down the console by touching the power button until you hear two beeps.
  2. Unplug the power cable and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Plug in the power cable.
  4. Touch the power button to turn on your console.
