AFK’ing a single time snagged myself a 20 minute ban from playing the entire game during the 20 minute period. Despite the fact it was quickplay–and my slot would be replaced within literal seconds. Blizzard appears to have completely lost touch. Just keep it in mind. If an emergency or something urgent happens, stop your queue. I’d say leave the game, but if first offense is 20 minutes. I can’t imagine it’d take more than two offenses to reach an hour of total ban. These clowns are now banning you from the entire game from even quick play AFK’s for 20 minutes first offense.

The fact this happens in Quickplay is an absolute joke. I don’t know WHY they punish people like that for simply leaving QP. I said it once and I’ll say it again… QP is a mode where people should be able to join without having to worry about leaving without being punished. It’s a mode that gets backfilled quickly, doesn’t ruin ratings, isn’t taken seriously, a mode where people can chill and try out new heroes.
Getting punished at all for leaving QP is a complete joke and they need to give their heads a wobble for even implementing a punishment for it.

Well said brother. You’re not wrong… the entire intent of the mode should be low-stakes fun. I guess their idea of fun is banning anyone who dares leave or have something more important during the potential 15 minute match. They’ve gotten progressively more and more disgusting with their suspensions/bans. It’s just a shame they’ve now extended their slime to quickplay. Ouch.

You can leave 4 times eithout a punishment, after which the first penalty is 5 minutes.
“In regard to penalties for leaving Quick Play matches - the reasoning behind this is that frequent leavers do have an effect on the other people in the match, degrading its quality. There are some players that literally leave over 90% of their matches, and we could no longer stick to a black-and-white policy because of this. The policy is still very lenient—probably too lenient—where players need to leave almost a quarter of their most recent matches to trigger a light penalty”
If you had a 20 minute penalty, that implies that you’ve left more than 7 games in your last 20.

Hm I saw that now it’s 40 mins ban first then 4 hours ban after 10 /30 mins in last season
After those news i mainly will be playing arcade mode maybe or after some time leave the game. I enjoyed my QP from OW 1 and was casual player and after it became ow2 i feel less and less fun and satisfaction. Stompwatch isn’t what I came here for + internet in Ukraine isn’t stable now and i already felt long term suspension cause overwatch couldn’t handle 10 sec drops for the last 3 weeks
