Keybinds question

I just bought a new lightweight mouse with only 2 side buttons as was advised to (had been using Corsair Scimitar Pro) but now I’m struggling with Keybinds. I have mouse button 1 for ability 1, 2 for 2, Q for ult and E for reload. Now not sure where to put melee attack. Any suggestions please?

Edit: I guess I can have it as middle mouse button but what about all communications? i.e. need healing, Hello etc.?

I used a side button for melee and the other side button for the shift ability.

Same here, only use a mouse side button for melee… is quite easy/quick to still using shift and e for abilities.

Damn idk how u can play like this. ‘R’ is the reload key in 99% of FPS games.

I have melee and crouch bound on my side buttons, but most heroes don’t need the crouch button.

Ultimately you use the two for the buttons that are out of your immediate finger use or what you need the most while moving.

I’ve played with a 17 button mouse for years (apart from last 2 years in which I took a break from gaming), so that’s what I’m used to. Obviously it’s going to be difficult to change that at first and although I do like the lighter mouse, I’m actually asking myself why bother. I was fairly happy with my 17 button mouse. Might be better if I get a 17 button Razer again, as they are lighter than the Corsair which is heavy as **** to be fair.
Anyway thanks all.

It’s a personal preference, nothing more.

In my case, i’ve bound my Del and End buttons to my mouse (G502 Hero) which i use on my side buttons for ability 1 and 2. I do have 4 side buttons (Two are located on mouse button 1) but i use 2 of them to control my DPI.

R for reload and mouse wheel up for melee. I also use mousewheel down on certain heroes for ults, such as Tracer and Sombra as an example.

Then i have voice lines bound from 1-5 But all of that is what’s comfortable for me.

Go to practice range and mess around with your controls and find a setup that you’re most comfortable with using, that’s my advise.
