New idea for balancing Kiriko:
If the hero received damage in the last 1 second, then he cannot teleport.
Now the hero has almost three lives. Dueling with Kiriko for DPS is not fun at all. If you change the teleport, this will add intellectual game to the hero.
Kiriko exists to negate the effects of Ana, the main idea with Suzu is to rush to tank, use it and then port out to avoid putting yourself into a dangerous situation.
So the issue is actually Ana with her anti-healing nade.
BUT, the main issue while dueling with Kiri as a DPS, is that the said Suzu provides 1.5 seconds of invulnerability upon use on top of the 80 healing.
I would much rather have her escape using the teleport than staying and nuking me under the invulnerability.
So, the only balancing change that is needed is to remove the invulnerability from Suzu. It will force her to either commit to the fight with 30/70 (i mean, DPS is meant to burn whoever, but in reality it will still be 50/50) chances to survive, or burn the teleport CD and save herself.
The suzuās immortality window is literally 0.65 seconds.
Thatās half a second of immortality. If you manage to dodge the headshots from her and sheās on teleport cooldown, you can kill her no problem. Just have to land some bullets into her.
well, yes, but here is the actual problem:
and sheās on teleport cooldown
So first of all, you have to wait for a second (lets be honest, EVEN if it is 0.65 seconds, it is actually at least a second due to ping differences between 2 people).
Secondly, she had a chance to run/climb away, but decided to stay because she has the teleport.
So she of all heroes has 2 windows of opportunity to escape the fight, Suzu and try to kill, teleport out if failed.
From this point of view:
- Sombra should be immune while using translocator (and she is not), and go into inviz on use
- Cass should have a second roll if he took/prevented by the initial roll more then 50% of his health
- Genji should have a reset on the Dash as soon as Deflect is used
- 76 should have his healing station attached to him so he can heal while running away
- Ana should have a small movement speed boost after sleep dart is used (you know, to defend herself and run away from the problem)
And this is just off the top of my head for annoying character to play against.
Kiri is the same as Bap, first you use Suzu / Whatever the name of the group heal for bap, then you use teleport / lamp + jump (but among all heroes who are pain to deal with he is somehow bearable)
You have to be playing matches well beyond gold/low plat level then. Because around here and lower no kiriko is smart enough to not use the teleport to try and save a teammate, which leaves her effectively without either ability and thus dead.
Sombra basically goes invisible on teleporter use. Takes around a second after she teleports and she is invisible.
The only way cass can undo that much damage is if he rolls out of an ult, at which point heās dead anyway because he canāt mitigate enough damage to live through a situation like that. If he did, he definitely deserves the second roll.
If genji kills anyone with the reflect, the dash cooldown is reset anyway.
Soldier had this in an april fools mode last year, makes it difficult to help allies but definitely helped his survival. This would easily make him op as just a gentle damage adjustments make him too powerful already.
If ana actually lands the sleep she is already moving faster than the sleeping hero, so essentially yes.
I wouldnāt mind this, but other parts of her kit would need to be adjusted accordingly and it would be fine (duration of sleep would need to be shorter, or the nade duration. But as hogās survival is so ridiculously high, the nade is staying as is.)
The only hero out of these that can actually be a pain in the ass is the soldier if heās played in a very mobile manner in your backline and if no one focuses on shutting him down.
If bap uses the aoe heal, wait 2 seconds for the effect to end (or just out damage it with a friendās help).
Lamp dies in 2 hits from most heroes and then heās dead if no one peels for him. The jump only helps with burst damage but not with someone dedicated to killing him.
If the kiriko teleports away, you know sheās with a teammate and more than likely half health or less. If she used the suzu while fighting you, someone else can kill her really easily.
If sheās being a cheeky flanker, a few good shots should spook her off if sheās able to tp away and then sheās not a backline problem anymore. At which point your supports are safe enough to support you and your team into victory.
The only characters i feel annoyed to play against right now are hog and doomfist. Hog because he can literally live through everything without blinking and doomfist because in skilled hands he is unkillable even if your whole team jumps on him.
From dps. Soldier, sym and a good genji. A soldier in your backline will kill your entire team 5 times before anyone but the supports start trying to kill him. A good genji because he comes and goes, leaving carnage without the frontline being none the wiser. Symmetra on capture points if she has a shield to hide behind, she will kill your entire team in seconds and no one can really stop her unless you get a lucky sniper shot in while the tank is elsewhere.
Supports. Most annoying to me is zenyatta and a good lucio.
Lucio because he can contest a point forever while being too quick to shoot down. Zen because heās so unassuming in the backline that no one thinks to kill him, while heās already killed your team multiple times with the discord orb.
Love those Kiris.
Or the ones that use suzu to heal someone, then wonders why everyone dies to the next ult.
Fun fact on the ult rescue. Iāve never actually managed to save myself from a dva bomb with it.
My whole team around me lives when i toss the suzu straight down, but i still die next to them. Gotta love those ping issues XD
I did it a few times when she first came out, but it was easier then. Havenāt played her since.
Also, just seen that if you donāt play on an account for a few 2-3 seasons, it removes your rank, so you have to do placements again. Playing support in gold, hilarious. Tanks going 3-7, flaming everyone else are my favourite. How do you play tank in gold and 3-7 (without directly throwing).
Yeah, iād need to do placements again but at least i reached plat once. Itās safe to say iād manage to climb to gold again.
And if you have more deaths than elimination, you have no right to flame anyone i think XD
Iāll probably do the new placements in the next season, see if iāve gotten any good with the other supports or if iāll have to lean on my mercy skills again.
Yeah. I am not sure I can care enough when I am playing support to worry about it. I am just laughing my butt off half the game.
I actually canāt believe the amount of tanks Iāve seen go negative KD tonight. Picks Doom, constantly yeets in to a Sigma Junk and complains that I am not healing⦠Of course Iām not, youāre dead⦠lol.
These are the players that complain about the game being āriggedā and such. There is only one thing rigged, and it is between their ears.
Iāve seen that too. I had a tank once who just didnāt wait to group up, just kept running in while the rest of the team was dead.
And whe we waited for him and tried to double pocket him he just refused to use corners and walls, getting himself deleted immediately and complaining about zero heals.
We actually made more headway after both of us supports ignored him completely. We got to the second checkpoint on rialto while he was flaming all of us and being salty. He left before our defence round started.
If you are DPS, shoot at her legs not the head. Its not hard to chase a kiri after the teleport either, they literally leave a trail. More annoying is turning around and facing a mango, or whatever hes called. Anyway try to get their suzu out first, then they can tele to papa fruit tree any day of the week.
I mean, every hero is ābalancedā enough if in a hands of a matching skill opponent.
Problem is, this game is plagued with either cheaters (more of them popped up recently), or even simpler, smurfs (this is more prominent on the ME servers, or lets say servers with low āpopulationā).
I agree that every, single, hero, can be countered, but some bring way more value than the others when in a good hands.
For 2 years now, since i moved to ME, i canāt simply get out of Gold rank on my DPS, been Plat and Diamond multiple times on my Tank and Support role, even in open queue comp, but aint not way you have any leverage against smurf Kiri.
And sadly, due to current state of the āmetaā (or at least some, or one particular tank, heroes bringing more to the table than the others) you are pretty much forced to always pick Kiri and then either Ana or Zen, and the first two of three are pretty much uncounterable when person who is playing them is out of your league.
GMRQ (Role Queue) 76 - no issue, GMRQ Widow - same, hell, even GMRQ Hog is easily countered (yeye, i play Sombra, broken hero, inviz all the time, it is not the game, it is my skill issue), but there is no way i am walking away from either Kiri or Ana, and at least with Ana i am kinda okay with me being tapped by 1 skill shot and then nuked, but it is just unbearable to loose to flying knifes only for them to Suzu and heal up, and then teleport out if i magically, somehow, had an upper hand on the said knifes.
(And yes, those are the ranks you encounter as a Gold DPS in a Comp on ME servers)
Oh, i just realized the main problem i have with the game (i kinda mentioned it already, but here it goes again) - some heroes are āscaling upā just to the point where it is pretty much no difference if you are a plat / diamond / master, while others have a significantly higher value output value at each rank of skill (and i know, rank does not directly translates into the skill you have on the character, but rather how much time you invested into the game to get to that rank, however, with greater time comes greater playtime on the character, hence more skill gained).
Some heroes have more flexibility when your skill grows with them, and some heroes are the best in such niche situations on only select maps that theyāre barely worth playing up from gold.
But there is no such thing as a no skill hero. Even heroes with a lower āskill roofā can still be played successfully on higher tiers with more game awareness and tactics.
Generally the heroes that require more aim and combo knowledge are the āhigh tierā heroes. Which in itself is a pretty impassable gauntlet for people who canāt aim or who have slower reflexes. Stopping us from climbing beyond lower plat tiers despite game awareness or tactical knowledge. (My aim is bad)
Perhaps it comes down to what roles you play the most then, knowledge of how to best deal with them. I have barely any trouble with kiri or ana, or sombra as since her release iāve always had to keep my attention on her existence or immediately perish.
Anaās sleepdart is easy to sidestep, as are the kunai.
As long as you get the kiriko low and live through the exchange, think of it as winning that exchange. She will be low enough for someone else to kill fast.
Hog is just an issue with the pigpen-hook-gun combo thatās pretty much an instant kill, and as a support, youāre always in the crosshair. The heal makes him impossible for a support to fight off too unless youāre ana or zen and get lucky.
And in my experience with soldiers is that whenever you try to flank him, heās already flanked your flank. He pops up from anywhere like a gopher and rockets you in the face, killing you near instantly.
And neither dps in my teams has ever deigned to actually deal with a flanking soldier that iām forced to try and duel for my life several times (usually losing). Then i get flamed for no heals despite my numerous requests to get help in dealing with him. I ping him every time i die and he still attack visors my entire team from behind several times in a match. Ending usually with around 30-1 kd or more.
Then there are the ones who are definitely no problem since theyāve never heard of flanking in their entire lives and i make them ragequit just by solo killing them a few times as mercy.
The gm tags can be misleading. As even if iāve gotten to low plat on support, iām pretty sure i would barely get into gold on dps.
