Latency starts off high (500~) and spikes to a thousand at the start of a match

Problem: Upon joining a match, at random, without the server I’ve connected to mattering, my latency spikes from starting at 500 all the way to above a thousand. I cannot do anything besides closing the game via alt-f4 upon this happening.

What I’ve tried:

  • Flushed my DNS
  • Port forwarded to Overwatch Steam TCP/UDP
  • Restarted my router
  • Verified the integrity of my files
  • Ran tracert tests for NA, EUW1, EUW2. They all came back with similar hyper-inconsistent ping ranges that vary between 30 all the way to thousands after each hop.
  • Force locked my server to ams1 to test whether its a connection issue to a specific server, which resulted in the issue persisting every other match as it was initially

Something to note: This only happens in Overwatch and other games have no connection problems for me. My internet speed is perfectly fine and I’ve played Overwatch since its release, this issue started happening about a week ago when I came back to the game after a year long break.

I live in Turkey, if that helps in any capacity.

I also suffer from this same problem. Which internet provider do you use? I use Superonline.

Also using Superonline. Have you tried contacting them?

Edit: Nevermind, check Superonline announcements at their site. They’ve been doing maintenance from 00:30 to 06:00 every day since the 18th. I’m thinking that’s whats been causing our issues. The last day of their maintenances is today, so if it still persists after today then we’ll know I suppose.

Thank you for letting me know, I was going crazy because of this.
