Live maintenance will be on Wednesday, 11 October from 00:00 (CEST) until 02:00 (CEST). During this time, players may experience interrupts of service including disconnects, but should be able to log back in.
Just had this notice come up. Surely if it affects live, they should disable the ability to play online similiar to what other companies do? Why allow this and risk game integrity or people risking season bans?
Cluess Blizzard at it again.

it says it should last a few minutes. In the meanwhile i have been trying to log in for over an hour lol
dont understand this. What is so hard to dubbel check if everything is working…
It’s the same every season. Get in the game somehow. Get kicked out of the game. Wait for 100 people. Enter again, get kicked out again…
I am playing the queue game, get to the front, unexpected error, end up in queue again, rinse repeat.
Why would you try to play during a season change?
It’s a big update, it messes everything up before it’s fully installed on every server.
If you have a different game version than the server, it won’t connect.
Either restart your game after updating or wait until tomorrow.
Why wouldn’t we? When R6/CS go through an update, the game is unavailable to play, then when it’s available, it works, everything is stable.
Only Blizzard does it this way. They are

Overwatch isn’t the only game that stays online during an update, most of them just aren’t fps games.
Since you guys all know that there are issues and disconnects during updates, it seems to me that you play during them just so you can complain.
Having disconnects if your game version is different from the server’s is normal and happens with every online game in existance.
My group and I persisted, we got to play.
We all had the right version which still works today without issue
No one is saying there aren’t going to be teething problems but equally we are entitled to report these.
