Low fps after Busan update

Hey there. I decided to make this post instead of replying to other ppl, maybe someone knows the solution.

Before the Busan update my game was doing fine at around 70-80 fps on medium settings, now after the update it goes to 20 fps on low settings making it unplayable. :frowning:

Itā€™s a shame.

Most people who posted this have older GPUs and CPUs and around 8gb RAM. Someone mentioned that his computer was struggling for about a minute after exiting the game. This makes me think that he exceeded physical memory usage and a lot of his virtual memory was paged to disk.

They might have introduced a bug that somehow increases the usage of some system resources (e.g.: using much more RAM or VRAM). Very easy to commit a mistake like that in many-many ways. But it can be a lot of other things too.

I have no problems with the patch but I have a somewhat better hardware config with 16gb RAM and 6gb VRAM.

I am runnig pretty low on a AMD FX-4100, 8gb ram and 2gb vram. It is undersatndable why I am more susceptible to have issues.

Hoping it is still the gameā€™s fault since my other games run normaly. :confused:

I have not played for 5 months and itā€™s still the same, bad gameplay and technical problems after updating, new games (with the higher requirements) work better for me than 2 years s ā€¦ t

I am also having FPS issues after the latest patch.

@Blackout You are not alone, i have nearly the same setup - i mean AMD FX-4100, 8gb ā€¦ before the busan update my game was doing ok. I mean i had like 80-90 FPS. I had never a problem with this game since the release. Now after the busan update it goes to max. 15-25 FPS in Ranked games and on train modi . it goes to max 50 FPS. So this game is now unplayable on my System. I Hope they will fix it.

Hopefully. I talked to a couple GMs and tried everything. no change. Wainting for something to pop up on forums. Also submited a ticket. You could try live chat also.

Hi, I have the same problem. My fps drop to 20-30 after busan update. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing works. Before the update, my game works fine with 80fps on battle :c

AMD FX 4100 3.60GHz
8gb
Nvidia GTX 1050

(Even in low, medium, high or epic settings my fps drop to 20)

I got the same specs except for the video card. I got a GTX960 2gb.

I strongly belive it has something to do with the update and not our rigs. Or at least not completly.

If I somehow fix the issue, Iā€™ll also post it here on forums.

Well I got the same problem (GTX 760 2GB) and tried a few things already.
Like lowered the resolution and other options, repaired the game, updated my drivers etcetc- actually went ahead and changed my GPU (same model) just to make sure my current one is not broken -but nothing helped.

The highest fps I get ingame since the Busan update is around 30, but only when I stand far away from any kind of fights and if I take part in one itā€™s around 10-20fps.

I hope we find a solution for this soon. :confused:

Iā€™m experiencing performance issues after Busan update just like you all. I tried lowering all settings to minimum, but it had no effect. This only happens in Overwatch.

In a case like this, first we need to follow some troubleshooting so we can discard the most common causes for performance issues.

Make sure both your operative system and drivers are up to date:

Make sure you deactivate Xbox DVR:

Delete the Battle.net Cache folder:

Repair the game:

Close background applications to make sure thereā€™s no other program interfering with the game:

If the issue persists, please create your DxDiag and MSInfo files:

but this steps are useless for this problem. Ive tried all of those steps 2 times. Nothing changed. I allrd. informed the support about that. The problem is the last patch BUSAN! So i hope blizzard will rework it since this patch destroys this game for many players. It is now unplayable on my system.

But all other games are still running fine.

I aslo tried all the recomended solutions from the tech support, and livechat.

I belive they are still investigating where the problem actually is.

I presume it will be fixed with the coming of a new patch.

Hello!

Sorry for hijacking the thread, but I have a similar issue, which is being ignored by the tech support. Low FPS/GPU Usage with 1080Ti - #7 by DodgingDoge-2829

Essentially, my GPU usage will drop, even on uncapped FPS, in some games. One game might be fine, but the next match is barely playable. Itā€™s hell. I donā€™t know what to do to solve this. The problem isnā€™t on my end I think.

  • GPU does not reach any thermal limit. The only limit active is ā€œvoltageā€ limit, which is fine.
  • GPU isnā€™t underpowered. I have a brand new EVGA 1000w PSU.
  • CPU isnā€™t bottlenecking, overall usage drops too. Itā€™s at 30% on all cores, busiest cores at 50-60% max.
  • Issue occurs even in hero selection screen and in spawn. I can literaly have the same drops in spawn and in a heated fight.

Iā€™ve tried every troubleshooting possible, made a thread as detailed as possible, and got no answer.

EDIT: Interestingly, page file seems to increase in game. Could this be it? Low FPS/GPU Usage with 1080Ti But what would cause this? A bug in OW?

Still waiting for some news or even better: a solution from the devs
The event will be here soon and I am worried if I will be able to play it with 10-20fps.

Hello everyone. It seems the problem is fixed after the new update. So I was right. there was something going on with the Busan update.

Later EDIT: it seems the game works fine just in Junkensteinā€™s revenge. but in the qp,comp and other modes the game is unplayable :frowning:
