Low FPS with dell laptop

Just bought Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming Laptop and it runs Overwatch at around 29 to 30 fps (sometimes even lower) on low settings… is there something I’m doing wrong or is my computer not strong enough?

CPU : Intel Core i5-7200 @ 2.5GHz
8GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 940MX

  1. Open the Nvidia Control Panel
  2. Manage 3D Settings.
    In the Global Settings tab find the Power management mode and select Prefer maximum performance
    Also mark the high performance of your laptop’s power settings

I have done those already but still it does not give me more than 40fps in game.
Are there anything else I can do ?

Make sure that you don’t have anything eating up your processing power (gpu or CPU.) Manufacturers like to add a lot of unnecessary software, which then works in the background.
Use selective startup and close everything that works in the background.

Have you updated your graphics drivers after purchasing a laptop?
In addition to the above, please disable GameDVR.
