My main account that I’ve owned for about 3 years now has constantly had problems with connectivity and fps problems. This year however I invested in two other accounts to play on and noticed that on both of those accounts my game was far more smooth, easier to play on, and had more FPS. My main has about 120-170 fps on all low settings, but my others are able to play at 190-250 stable, and generally have less ping (30 compared to 40-50 on my main) and crashes far less. I’ve checked the settings on all of the accounts, and to my knowledge they have the exact same settings- low graphics settings for maximum FPS, same controls with both have the precise mouse setting (I own a g pro), and I used over the came period of time on the same pc. My other accounts just seem to run way more smoothly than the main, and I’d like to sort the accounts problem since it’s the one I use to frequently compete in tournaments with. My pc is a below average spec- gtx 1050ti, 5th gen i5, 8gb ram ( I can barely open anything on my pc when overwatch is open, even discord for Comms) and over WiFi unfortunately now, but the alt still runs far better. I’d love to fix this problem so I can run the game better especially when competing, so any help would be greatly appreciated:)
Hey Tarantino!
When you created and played these accounts, did you also install the game again for each of these accounts in different folders, or did you refer all 3 accounts to the same game client you already have installed locally? Resetting your in-game options may help in this case.
Your post also suggests you’re playing over Wi-Fi, which is not a recommended connection method for us. If you can, please try and connect via a cable to see if that helps with the latency issue.
I got each of the accounts for the same computer, and didn’t download the game again, so I would assume that it is the exact same folder as when I first downloaded it 3 years ago. And yes WiFi isn’t ideal but throughout all the time playing on the accounts I’ve been on WiFi and the other accounts still run smoother than the original
