Seriously, I’ve played so many FPS shooters in my life, but this game has the worst matchmaking in history. I’m not sure why some of us get these unwinnable troll games, but I suspect it’s because we haven’t put any money into this game lately.
Please, the only way to show the developers that this is not acceptable is to not play and not post on the forums. There are so many great team-based shooters out there these days. I know it’s hard to step out of your comfort zone, but the game developers have shown us that they don’t care about us. Look at what OW2 promised: PVE, talents etc. but all we get is 5v5 and a battle pass.
I tried it again after a 6 month break, the enemy team had av. 30 elims and my team had 5.
I will not be returning to this game. It has let me down too many times.
You know, if you build a lobby with 10 perfectly match players, or with 10 complete random skills… You’ll just have some bad games from time to time.
Truth is, he match maker is ok. Nothing more nothing less. It isn’t trying to fudge anyone over, it’s just doing a basic job with the information it has.
But, as said, sometimes matches just suck. One example from last night, game was a mess, neither tank looked like they had a clue what they were doing. I like you, assumed trolling so just cracked on. When I looked later it turned out to be one tank was a mercy main and one was a Moira. Neither had played tank in about 10 season.
So nothing he match maker could do. Just 2 people flex queuing and the rest of us just got unlucky to have them in the lobby.
I suppose in RQ we should have different MMR for the different roles?
So how can we be Plat in DPS and Gold on Tank?
We do.
But if you don’t play the role, it’ll never adjust.
Maybe be if you don’t play a role for saying 2 season it should force you into the 10 placement games again… but that’s not really going to change much.
It’s a tricky one. I don’t think there is a solution. If people don’t want to play a role, they shouldn’t be made to feel like they have to through challenges. But then, no one should be telling them not to play.
I think it’s just one of those situations where you just have to take it on the he chin, and accept that sometimes the match is just going to be bad quality.
Nah the matchmaker is really bad. It’s usually stomp or get stomped. Balanced games are really rare.
Stomp or be stomped is just the nature of Overwatch. Not the match maker. It is just a thing that happens with low team coordination, throw in a few mistakes and poor positioning decisions and boom. Done.
Most OW1 games were stomp or be stomped too.
A lot of the time, below diamond, you are now getting games where (in RQ) there is maybe only 1 tank player in the lobby. And if you get them you will probably win. Some games you get none and its just people flex queuing and the game is messy.
Unfortunately OW2 matchmaker is just terrible and still hasn’t been resolved since it was released.
OW however very Very rarely had a stomp game, most were well balanced.
Odd, I didn’t have many stomp or get stomped games in OW1 to be totally fair…
I think the way OW2 is set up that a lot of matches have a snowballing effect. Sure, lack of team coordination is impactful but I don’t believe that’s the main issue.
Neither did I, and I don’t get many in OW2 either.
I can see why people would expect 5v5 to do that. But the game is about snowballing, if you can force it by using better positioning, pressure and ability/ult usage. You win. You should be aiming to try snowball every game.
