Matchmaker broken? - got matched against a 4 stack, vs my team of individuals

Blizzard please investigate/reach out to me for the code.

solo queue here. It is every game vs 2-5 people premades. Not to mention they usually cheat as well.

It’s not the first time that I have seen something so inbalanced.
One time my tank was matched against another tank that was 7 division above. Needless to say, that match was also one-sided.

Blizzard’s developers have really dropped in their competency going into OW2.

I’m thinking about making a spreadsheet tracking how games flow. At the moment I estimate 8/10 matches are extremely one-sided, as in one team gets 2-4 kills in total and get destroyed. You can end up in either side of these, and none is really that much fun. Is there any response regarding this from Blizzard or is this just how the game is at the moment?

That is my observation too. I keep thinking about tracking a spreadsheet also.

Cast your mind back to OW, those matches really did feel balanced. OW2 is just generally a stomp rather than a competitive matchmaking.

I conducted a small experiment using 50 matches as a reference. In 38 of those matches, one team completely dominated the other, while the remaining 12 matches were somewhat balanced.

Out of the 38 matches where one team dominated the other, more than half were against my team.

I want to make a very specific observation: in all the matches I lost out of the 50 I used for this experiment, in 90% of them, my team played in a very odd way, almost as if they weren’t real players. In every match I lost, I was the one with the most kills and the most damage dealt, and that’s considering I see myself as a mediocre player. All the other members of my team didn’t get more than 5 kills and died more than 10 times each.

Interesting observation, and it’s pretty much like my experience.
It would be interesting to see what “Tolerance” blizzard were looking into and if they would reveal such data.

My thoughts are, are that they lack the knowledge and intellect of what “data” they should be using, and how to use such data. Going off previous decision that have gone so badly, the bugs they left in the game, and bad decisions of the past.

The fact they investigated it shows there is something wrong. This wasn’t investigated in OW because the matches are balanced. The matchmaker done it’s job.
Only going OW2 have we had this issue.

I might try and develop an app that records wins/losses/player stats.

Matchmaking is extremely frustrating—way too much at this point for me.

It’s not even worth playing anymore because it’s just not fun. The gap between teams is absurd; it’s ridiculous.

I still believe that, at the very least, every match has 2 to 3 bots.

They bring things like Overwatch: Classic, new heroes, and other updates, but they can’t do something about matchmaking. At least make it somewhat balanced. It’s no fun constantly getting crushed by opponents who are clearly on a much higher level.

Yeah, but apparently matchmaking falls within their “tolerance”.

Let’s be honest. They haven’t revealed their tolerances. They haven’t said that they’ve compared OW2 to OW. They haven’t explained why they investigated this in the first place. They haven’t revealed the data/datasets they have used to come up with their conclusion.

One things for sure, the matches are generally hella one-sided. One team smashing 30-40 kills, the other barely pulling in 5 or 7 kills for example.

Maybe the tolerance they’re looking at is how many of the population are playing vs how many BattlePass sales they have made.
